I have been going to LSU games for over 40 years. We do not have parking passes. It is becoming increasingly difficult to tailgate. It was not this bad years ago. It sarted with no parking under oak trees and continued with taking areas away that just left vacant today. Last week was the worst. We arrived at 730am to chaos and confusion. I saw several people hauling pits and ice chests for long distances that were frustrated as we were. And this was at 730 in the morning. Parking lots were blocked off with a lot of unused space while traffic was conggested right around campus. If the security were instructed to try to fill the lots instead of just closing them at 6 and 7am, it would helped significantly. I feel that LSU makes little or no effort to improve conditions for its loyal tailgating fans without parking passes. I hate to see this as it hurts their attendance at times like now when they need the loyal support. There is no doubt in my mind that improvements can be achieved if LSU makes the effort.

Dude....everyone who tailgates in the free lot should have known about GAMEDAY being there. We had our stuff out there and set up the night before, got to our spot by 6am on gameday and partied our asses off.

1. The Oaks should have never been parked on in the first place.

2. There is PLENTY of parking/places to tailgate. You just have to be there early and know your drill. We had a car parked out at our spot Friday night and I was there at 5am Saturday morning getting everything ready.

3. Where are you talking about? LSU hasn't blocked off anything new this year. The reserved lot access is still blocked, but for obvious reasons.

4. Go check out the rules for tailgating at Arizona State and come back to me. You'll be throughly pleased to know how accomidating LSU is to the best pregame atmosphere in the country.

At Boston College, they are only allowed on campus 2 hours before the game (City regulations) we have it good.

Yeah we tailgate in the interior of campus and never really have a problem. When we walked to gameday this week, we saw the lines at the port-o-potties, and I was glad we didn't have those kinds of lines by us, they were long as hell.

Of course, ESPN Gameday took away a lot of parking. But to compound the problem, the free lot behind the Gameday set was available for parking but was sabotaged by vehicles coming in and parking at 5 a.m. and blocking access into the free lot. It was a mess by the time the constables got there about 6:30 and the lot was closed down but was only half full. Several vehicles were towed away but that took a long time to do so the lot was never re-opened.

What I don't understand is why the lot next to Walk Ons is closed and not available until the lots across Burbank become full? Why can't you park there any time especially since the lots across the street were closed due Gameday and the blocked access mess? People circle and circle looking for places to park and that field just stands empty.

We got out there Friday at 9pm and spent the night to save the spot. Just curious, you don't complain about getting a spot on st charles mardi gras day do you?

You need to get up earlier. If you get there at 7:30, for a 2:30 game especially, you can expect to walk a pretty good distance.

I agree with the guy above. How is it hurting attendance? There was a record crowd this past weekend.

Doesnt make enough effort you say? Come on man. Can we find anything else to bitch about? Geez, some people will never be happy without the freedom to bitch about something. Happy Veterans Day Pal.

The only negative thing I saw was the closing of Tower Road for the ROTC memorial. That pretty much screwed my tailgate but they did give us notice last week.

Off Topic: Anyone else encounter a cop in front of the bell tower near the blockade? Wouldn't even allow us to unpack our car, and then threatened to arrest us. Great representative of the BR police force...
