First game was 72 or 73 against Miss. St. My Dad brought me and I just remember walking in and being amazed at how bright it was. LSU won and went to the Orange bowl. My Mom's cousin played for Miss. St. And we got to go down by the locker room and talk to him and his folks after the game. They were a sad bunch but even then they rang those damn cow bells.

Arkansas vs. LSU - 2003

I was probably older than most. I was 17, but it was still an awesome father-son event for us. My dad decided that team was doing something pretty special, so we had to go and see a game during their potential NC season.

And of course the game was an absolute thrashing. Justin Vincent and Skyler Green ran wild, and Mauck was a model of efficiency.

Do you remember your first game in Tiger Stadium?

I dont remember my first game, I was too young. The first game I remember was the Georgia in 2003. I was in the 5th grade. I remember this old man being helped jump over the fence after the game when everyone stormed te field.

That's funny. I was at that game and I don't remember everyone storming the field.

Maybe there were a FEW people who got onto the field after that game, though I don't remember either.
He might be thinking of 2000 when we stormed the field after the OT Tennessee victory, and did partially for Bama also and a few for Miss. State - all in 2000.
I NEVER remember anyone storming the field in Death Valley after a DAY game, EVER.
The last time before 2000 (to my knowledge) that the crowd stormed the field was my sophomore year at LSU in 1982 - LSU 55 FSU 21.

Yeah, I will too; Don't remember exactly which one but during mid-60's when my dad would take me and back then they colored the EZ with other team color and had band nights with several marching bands on field same time was a musical spectacle! Might have been A&M close win. Definitely remember Gumps 69 last win over them at home for 31 years!

LSU-Bama '71, the beginning of the long painful curse.

ETA, I was with the father of a player so after the game we went the athletic dorm and ate. Massive quantities of food being scarfed down by the players who had been starving for hours, met Tyler Lafauci and a few others in the lines and at the tables.

I've never been as sad as that is. I've seen LSU play in Nashville, Knoxville, Athens, and even watched them win an SEC championship in Atlanta. However, I've never seen them play in Tiger Stadium. I know I'm missing out and will go down there in the next couple of years. I just want to make sure it's a night game.

For those that said the USC game in 79, the Washington game or the FSU game in 83. WOW. Great first games. I was in school then and attended all 3. Unreal.
USC game was still my greatest live game of my life and I was in NO for the 03 championship.

Every home game in 1966 - the year my dad received his PhD. I was 5 years old. I dont remember any specific detail, i just remember the atmosphere. I do remember that my little sister was in an LSU cheerleader outfit. I have been a Tiger fan since birth. I had 2 uncles that played running back for LSU. One went on to play for the Eagles and is in the Pro Football HOF.

Nice read. Thanks for sharing. I think my first live LSU game was versus Miss State, 1964. I was 15.

not so nice

Technically my first was the '88 earthquake game against Auburn but I was too young to remember it. First one I remember was the 2000 Tennessee game, first overtime game ever in TS and we won 37-31.

I remember going to Purple and Gold games in the early 70s but the first real game I remember going to was LSU v. Rice in 1977. We beat them 77-0 and Carlos Carson had 5 TD receptions. I thought of that game last week when they said Mett was the first QB to throw 5 TDs. I assume they had 2 QBs play in that game (which is what LSU commonly did in the 70s).

Mine was a loss to aTm under Hallman. Maybe 1993 or 1994?

The first game I really remember well was Bring Back the Magic.

Yep – the 13-13 tOSU tie in 87 – man was it hot too. Had to get there early for a decent seat (a po student at the time). Beam and coke didn’t help the heat
Earthquake game was one of my favourites - could have went to game when tigahs beat #1 FL
