They won head to head . They were the one seed in tourney. To me that means they won the title

National seeds I think are decided by the regular season for the most part.

Tell that to Southern Miss.

You are wrong. They didn't win the title any more or less than us. We will have this season listed as SEC Champions because we are.

People clowned Ole Miss bc they hung a SEC West Co Champ banner. Let's not pretend that this is the same thing.

Good point but we won't really know till they announce the seeds on Sunday. Southern Miss could still get one

Nah, host sites are announced later now.
Since what 2012? This is a quote from Dennis Farrell in 2013:
quote:

"It really is kind of a marriage of art and science," he said. "We get a lot of data put in front of us. We get advice from regional advisory committees. At the end of the day it's a vote of 10 committee members."

Farrell said the decision to pick the Tar Heels over the Commodores was made before the end of Vanderbilt's 5-4, 11-inning loss to LSU in the SEC tournament championship game Sunday.

You are correct, but if we drop the Regionals or Supers...people like you will be the first one on here bitching. It's hard to win in the post season, one of those Stony Carolina/Houstons will be sent to Baton Rouge with a team full of 4 year dudes who won't be flustered by the noise...let's beat those guys first, then go dominate OSU and UNC.

That's great you feel that way . We are co champs in the same way that ole miss was co champs in 07 for the west. We went to Atlanta based on what happened in the field . Florida was the one seed based on beating us 2/3. I really don't care wether we win the SEC or not . 1996 we had a three way tie and we won all that mattered .

Remember they used to announce the host sites on Saturday night.

Then it was Sunday afternoon before the SEC title game would even finish, the last two or three years though, they've been announcing them Sunday evening.

Per NCAA

Its not the way I feel...it's the way the SEC works.

If you feel we didn't win the title, that's fine...but it doesn't change the fact that we did.

My quote is from an article posted on Tuesday the week of regionals. That year, the hosts were released Sunday night at 9:30 ET just like they are now.

Then the season wasn't as successful as it should have been. LSU baseball is held to higher standards. LSU hasn't made a deep run in the CWS since 2009.

Hold, you are correct on the books we are co champs. That's great . Florida will be a higher national seed than us, were the #1 seed in tourney ,and took 2/3 from us.

Florida should be a higher national seed than us. They will be. They have a more impressive resume. Its not because of the reasons you listed. RPI and SOS are well above ours.

OSU is NOT battle tested like LSU. Home/road SEC series, close games, big moments....LSU's resume is hard to beat.

Don't worry about Oregon State until Omaha. Two of the last 3 #1 seeds didn't even make it to Omaha.

And one of those 2 was Oregon State.

This is what I got heading into championship Sunday (assuming Southern Miss holds on to beat Charlotte tonight)

1. Oregon State — Long Beach St.

8. Southern Miss — Virginia

4. Texas Tech — Wake Forest

5. LSU — Houston

3. Florida — UCF

6. TCU — Arkansas

2. UNC — Stanford

7. Louisville — Kentucky

I think Stanford gets the #8 seed. They've now passed Kentucky and SOuthern Miss up in the RPI.

And I think Florida State gets a host site instead of UCF. Other than that I agree with what you have.

Did Stanford win today? They already won 2 of 3.

They get the 8 seed.

I doubt UCF and Houston get a host. Just one of them.

Stanford (40-14) - 2nd in Pac 12 (Con RPI: 5)
RPI: 9
SOS: 49
vRPI Top 50: 10-8
vRPI Top 25: 6-4
Last 15: 13-2

Southern Miss (47-13) - CUSA Champs (Con RPI: 6)
RPI: 10
SOS: 66
vRPI Top 50: 10-3
v RPI Top 25: 0-0
Last 15: 14-1

They went 14-14 in ACC play and have a losing record against RPI top 50. Hard to give them a host when we're talking about South Carolina being on the bubble due to a losing record in the SEC.

UCF won a share of the AAC and are 9-9 v RPI top 50.
