This all started in 1980. The Auburn fans were sitting in their normal spot in the south end zone. The cracks of their collective rears showing above their pants line among 90% of those Bama Rednecks (I know that's redundant). We had a bunch of warm water balloons and threw them into the crowd. The warm water caused them to pee in their pants and the legend was born... Auburn people screamed, to hide their embarrassment, that we had thrown piss balloons on them. How ridiculous. (So we threw them on from then on... But we outgrew it once we got to be 50 years old)

I too must have lived a sheltered existence in my four decades of attending LSU games. I pass by one tail gate party after another with LSU and opposing fans partying together. I have seen very few fights outside of the stadium and where I have sat in the stadium I have only seen fights between LSU fans. Piss balloons = urban legend.

That is not to say that I don't believe that negative things happen to opposing fans. I'm sure they happen every game. When you have 100,000 people on campus and you mix in alcohol you are going to have stuff happen. All I'm saying is those incidents are not something I have experienced much of. I guess I am fortunate to tailgate where I do, walk the path I do to the stadium and sit in the area I do.

The worst thing I have experienced is fans booing LSU players.

This thread has potential.

I've been going to LSU games since '80. Probably 30 games or so. I never saw anything but WAY WAY too sensitive opposing fans get either offended or angry at "Tiger Bait".

I've never seen piss balloons or anything memorable except extreme hospitality after some ribbing.

Ignorant mother frickers are everywhere, but we are nothing like Florida frick heads, TA&M meat heads, or Oklahoma's highly offended, no personality, out of touch asses.

LSU fans are comedians. I like it. You have to be smart to be really funny. I usually laugh a LOT in that damn tailgate.

Proud to be an LSU fan. Now let's go punch their pregnant with devil spawn fake Tiger wives in the face!!

I've been to quite a few games, mostly tailgating these days. But when the student section chants STTD so that every little old lady on national TV can hear it, its no surprise that ESPN just moments ago made references to thrown batteries, and "other stuff." The other things that get shouted loudly in public are ridiculous, and just feed the impression.

I've never had too much of a problem at LSU for the Alabama games (my alma mater), except one keyed car in the '80s, and something last year. I was accompanied by an age appropriate wonderful LSU grad... no problems.. a few tiger baits etc., even though I was wearing red. No problems until we left at half time. The walk back to the car was ... interesting. A gang of drunk hoodlums using language to me, and then to her that I won't repeat, fights all over the place, it was scary, and humiliating to have a 60 year old companion called a wh**re, etc.

I doubt the perps were LSU students... probably just thugs. But the combo of all day drinking, dark of night with more drinking can't help the equation. As a person said above, don an opposing color and walk around.. see what happens. Nice and scientific test.

No personal issues at other football games ... baseball is another, worse, issue ... but I don't wear red and I do cheer for LSU 11 games a season, especially against Aub.

Oh... and the p*ss balloons are actually ziplock baggies, not balloons. They will burst open nicely.

Actually GrandDad, it happens all the time these days. Ever since a very helpful engineering student came in one day and taught us how to modify an innocent-looking coffee dispenser into a lean, mean piss-balloon making machine, away fans at TS have been resplendent in liquid nitrogenous waste. Sometimes past really is prologue. Or something.

Well... I have degrees in both engineering and physics. LINK

It isn't when you have a small penis.

I'll be honest, I've actually thrown a few piss balloons when I was a student (mostly at Auburn fans FWIW because at that time (2003 - 2007) they were our biggest rival).

People laugh, but making a piss balloon isn't easy. First you have to get completely erect, and then you have to stretch the balloon sphincter over your member. NOTE: this only works if you have a tiny penis. Then you have to wait until your erection subsides (which is difficult because the feeling of the balloon sphincter is so pleasurable) before you let got your stream of piss inside the balloon.

Unfortunately, your bladder cannot generate enough pressure to stretch the ballon too much, so you have to throw it VERY HARD at your target to make sure the balloon explodes and gets your pee all over them.

I generally seek out cute chicks with a beta BF or even children to peg with my piss balloons. I hate Aubies.

This one is a little dangerous, but you could try this at your own risk... You could make a piss balloon rather easily with a little liquid nitrogen. Just fill up a 20 oz. coke bottle with urine. Add a dribble of liquid nitrogen. Stretch the ballon over the top and turn it over. As the liquid nitrogen evaporates it will create enough pressure to push the urine into the balloon. You have to be very careful though... Too much liquid nitrogen and it could explode the balloon before you pull it off (messy). Whatever you do, don't put a lid on the bottle because the pressure will build, and it will blow up the bottle (dangerous).

You don't use a balloon, you use a cheap imitation ziplock. You have to be careful, though, since it's a knockoff... no yellow and blue to make green.

Yes. Old ladies who graduated from LSU in the 40's started the tradition. Their daughters, followed by their daughters daughters, proudly carry on the piss bomb tradition. What amazes me most is how they hide in the trees above the fans cars and the opposing teams busses and piss directly into the balloons, capturing some of it in the balloon, with no "wasted wasted" as the residual piss hits its intended target just as well as Auburn's Qb hits his targets. You gotta love the traditions of college football, and we should be proud of this one at LSU ! (ps, been going to the games for decades, literally hundreds, and have never even seen a piss bomb or ever heard any credible anecdote where one was thrown).
