If you open the link you see the flight goes from SLC to BTR and then continuing on to Tupelo, near Oxford where Utah is playing.

LINK

I guess it makes sense logistically but it seems odd for two schools to share a charter.

If they didn't that seems a waste.

That's a big enough plane to move the team and staff of a football team.

Need extra space for the sister-wives and magic underwear.

Yeah. Utah took a photo in front of a World Atlantic plane this morning. Not a bad idea.

That's what led me to this. I looked up the tail number in that pic and saw the aircraft went SLC-BTR-TUP.

I was just surprised they did this, it makes too much sense.

Maybe they could have picked up tulane on their way.

I could be wrong on this, but I believe the NCAA covers travel expenses for teams. But there are some limitations as it relates to cost. So the two schools likely teamed up to make it more cost effective.

Why would Utah fly into Tupelo? Seems like Memphis would be a lot closer to Oxford.

Probably makes too much sense not to share a plane...as far as staying in Tupelo, probably the closest place they could get hotel rooms

Both Memphis and Tupelo airports are close to Oxford, but Tupelo is closer by 25 miles.

Tupelo is closer. LSU football team uses Tupelo.

Tupelo is a very easy drive. One road. Memphis is kind of indirect route.

Oxford airport runway can't handle larger planes.

I assume they will be flying back together. Going to suck for Utah Valley if Utah wins their regional and is celebrating on the flight back while Utah Valley mopes in the front of the plane.

In 2012, the NCAA put LSU, Tennessee, and Florida State softball on the same charter 737-800 Sun Country plane after elimination from the WCWS. LSU was dropped off 1st, then Tennessee, and FSU.
