But he always avoided the REALLY bad season. That's not easy to do when you're in a league where EVERYONE is desperate to win at all costs

The previous coach didnt have the bad season you speak about even with Jennings and Harris playing QB. And when you factor in who he was competing against, arguably the most difficult division ever, makes it even more remarkable.

Ohio St.
Auburn
Michigan
USC
Florida
Notre Dame
Texas
and several other blue bloods during that same span cant say this.

Even with everything you just posted about the LSU "O" the tigers still had the most explosive offense in the SEC last year.

Not when it counted. Against the cream puffs yes they looked great. But alot of teams do that every year. And then face LSu and bama and get humbled.

Just win baby.2 losses at home in league play one as a 14 point favorite isnt gonna get it done.

But, that loss to Florida at home was totally unacceptable. Cost LSU the Sugar Bowl.
The previous coach didnt lose those types of games. The 3rd down and goal play call with the full back dive against a stacked box was as bad as it gets. Even called the play left which LSU hadnt had any success. SMH.

Going the wrong way after a timeout on the next play, going left again wasnt much better.
Hopefully, thats not the expectation moving forward.

LosTigres I call BS on this .That was a player error. There were numerous other player errors that caused this loss.Repeat : player errors not coaching errors. You obviously hate Coach O and will spew crap to try and discredit him.GTFO

I don't think LosTigres hates Coach O. He's just repeating the exact same thing that numerous members of the rant say about any LSU coach that loses a game like O did the Florida game.

Miles, Mainieri, Jones and the list goes on. We'll hear the same thing this coming basketball season with Wade if LSU loses a game due to poor free throw shooting or whatever.

I see Lord Orgeron will be untouchable and it will always be OC/DC/Player faults.

Hate the eight win, 10 win stat in the "most in LSU history,'' because LSU would only play 4-6 games most early decades. Look it up.

That stat means nothing when you play a few cupcakes every year especially since it's a 12 game regular season now.

actually 13 games, since the streak counts the bowl games

Look, the streak is a good one (4 of those years were 8-win seasons) - but it really just means we haven't had a really shitty year ("shitty" is relative, of course). Sure, there's something to be said for that, but 8-5 is nothing to be proud of, not with the hotbed of talent in Louisiana, no real in-state competition, our facilities, financial resources, tradition, and a schedule with 3-4 cupcakes, and 2-3 more weak SEC teams.

Sure, I'd take a streak of 8-5 years over 5-8, but both are disappointments.

Don't have time to calculate, but I'm guessing if comparisons were done on season W% it would be minimal difference except for all the ties prior to OT era. You can always just use Head Coach W% to simplify the bs.

Also cupcakes mentioned elsewhere didn't just arrive with the 12, or even 11 game season.

Whose job is it to coach the players and make sure they limit errors?

Tegre

Excuses is what I hate. Just win the #@@#@#@ game!

I dont dislike the curent HC, hopefully he's the guy. But going 6-2 with that LSU team, after supposedly "righting the ship" against a bunch of cream puffs and "looking good in doing so" is alot like A&M and a bunch of other no hardware teams.

Now GFY, I dont want to hear this whiny crap.
