During that same time, the Bayou Bengals also began a string that has led to 17 straight seasons with at least eight wins, which is the longest streak in SEC history.

Growing up going to every home game in the Hallman/Dinardo era, I would never have imagined this.

Now, go on about not doing enough with it.

Were you happy with the talent on last year's team managing 4 losses?

That stat means nothing when you play a few cupcakes every year especially since it's a 12 game regular season now.

That's true, but in that same time frame everyone else has had a drop here and there. UF with Muschamp/Zook; Bama with Shula; Auburn with Chizik, etc, etc.

Les certainly underachieved some years with his talent. But he always avoided the REALLY bad season. That's not easy to do when you're in a league where EVERYONE is desperate to win at all costs

If its so easy, why doesnt every team have the same streak?

Using your logic, every team should have this streak since they all play cupcakes.

But yet, although "that stat means nothing," we also have the longest streak without a losing season. And it's not close...

Years since last losing season (includes bowl games):
LSU - 18
Alabama -10
A&M -8 (Big 12)
Georgia -7
Auburn -5
Arkansas -4
Florida -4
Tennessee -4
Kentucky -2
Miss St -1
Ole Miss -1
Missouri -1
S Carolina -1
Vandy -1

UPDATED to add some historic programs:
Florida St - last losing season = 1976
Miami - 3
Michigan - 3
Nebraska - 10
Notre Dame - 10
Ohio St - 6
Oklahoma - 19
Penn St - 13
Texas - 1
UCLA - 1
USC - 17
Washington - 8
Wisconsin - 16

My money would be on A&M to be the next one of the "big boys" to go down.

Getting shut at at home at night and mustering 125 total yards against Bama was tough to stomach.

But, that loss to Florida at home was totally unacceptable. Cost LSU the Sugar Bowl.
The previous coach didnt lose those types of games. The 3rd down and goal play call with the full back dive against a stacked box was as bad as it gets. Even called the play left which LSU hadnt had any success. SMH.

Going the wrong way after a timeout on the next play, going left again wasnt much better.
Hopefully, thats not the expectation moving forward.

They forfeit like 90 games every 6 years or so. I'm surprised they've made it that long.
