t was a poor hire. If O wins the natty this year I won't have egg on my face, because I will still be right - it will still have been a bad decision. Example: Say that I advise you not to bet your life savings, straight up, that LSU wins the 2017 natty, but you do, and you win. I was still correct, even though you'd walk away with a cool 100 bucks.

A better example is Gene Chizik, that was a awful hire, he proved that by going 3-9 2 years after win the Natty

That said if O wins an NC but gets fired in 4 years I'd take that

Right Rickdaddy and my point was that this board would not have supported any of those guys as LSU HC but they support O who was worse than they wer

gotcha.

I've seen lsu posters on here admit that vandy wouldn't hire ed orgeron as a head coach yet still claim he was a good hire by lsu.
let's be honest, no sec program woukd interview Ed Orgeron for defensive coordinator, let alone head coach.

as bad as Gene chizik was, he had a car better resume than O. chizik had actualky proven he could be a great coordinator. he won the Broyles award for that 2004 auburn defense

We played Mizzou and Ole Miss after Miles was fired. Those were two horrible defenses. The two good defenses we played with O head coach we lost to. Miles had to Wisconsin and Auburn. Two good defenses. So LSU played 4 good defenses and both HC lost two apiece.

Are we just going to pretend Louisville isn't a top 10 defense? And do you honestly think Les would have done as well, offensively, as Ed O's crew against Mizzou, OM, A&M, Arky? Might have even lost two of those games with Les.

So I guess everyone should draft QBs in the 6th round cause Tom Brady did pretty well

That Dabo/O comparison ship has sailed. Dabo was good from the start and never looked back.

I just hope Alleva has the balls to fire Orgeron the second it looks like it isn't gonna work. No fricking around
so you think lsu would pay 3 coaches at 1 time?

So..... why do you keep bringing up things that make you look like you want O to fail.... it's sad that you say you want him to do well but at the same time you bash everything about him... face it.... you are a bandwagon LSU fan and you want O to fail....

Why are you such a sensitive little Nancy that you equate criticizing the hiring of an individual to wanting that individual to fail? No actual LSU fan wants Orgeron to fail. Orgeron failing = LSU failing. I'm baffled that so many on this board still can't grasp this extremely simple concept.

Nope.

And I didn't expect him to get the job either. Pretty nice gig for a guy that's accomplished nothing as HC. Glad the sheep are on full follow mode.

why did you always bring up things that proved you wanted Miles to fail.

you know you've hired an unqualified coach when simply posting facts about his career is labeled as bashing him.

I've been a lsu fan before O and I'll be a lsu fan after O.

how dare you say someone is a bandwagon fan. youve never stepped foot on lsu's campus.

if calling into question lsu's head coach means I want him to fail then youve wanted miles to fail during his entire tenure at lsu.
all you ever did was bash miles with proven ignorant opinions.

stop acting like our offense looked way better because of the passing game.
those programs you listed are the 89th,117th,118th, and 84th in opponents rushing yards per game.
We ran for 390 yards against Arky
We ran for 418 against Missourri
We ran for 312 against ole miss
We ran for 298 against A&M

miles very rarely lost games against teams with bad run defenses.

You know why he wants O to fail because if he wins it's takes away from what Miles did in some ppls eyes. Pretty simple and transparent really he even shits on Os wins and refuses to admit we performed much better after Miles was fired last season.

yes.

you've repeatedly said Miles not getting offers proves he sucks. what does that say about Ed Orgeron not getting coordinator job offers for 29 of his 32 year career?

it's one of the most unqualified hires in big 6 history.

Jesus Rick...we've been down this road. It was a knee-jerk, desperate hire. EVERYONE knows this. He is not qualified based solely on his HC resume...EVERYONE knows this as well.

And yet, here he is with the HC job at LSU, through no fault of his own. And in his first full off-season, he's made all the right moves. Give it a rest already.

From LSU's perspective, hire a guy that loves the school and is an A+ recruiter on a low paying deal and if he doesn't work, cut him loose and try the market again in a couple years.

great way to look at the hire!
