Did anyone hear the NCAA reasoning for playing today in the pregame?

Basically said the NCAA made the decision BECAUSE it was the championship game, they didn't want to play the championship game so late.

That has to be the most bullshite excuse I've ever heard.

Even more bullshite is that it was requested by UNCW and the request was granted.

They keep making up excuses because they don't want to tell anyone that ESPN told them to do it.

They are just like the SEC headquarters. They make it up as they go. They will forget about this ruling and then contradict themselves next year. I'm not even sure why they have rules and regulations these days.

LSU should have showed up on the field and told the NCAA if the other team doesn't show they forfeit by rules.

Still could have informed those involved of the decision instead of waiting until 9 last night

Nope. A friend of mine knows whats up. Actually sent pics of he and skip in a pregame tour of the locker room.

It all stems from a Fla St situation that happened recently. Something about the coach notching his catcher was being forced to play/throw after 18 straight innings and how it could be damaging. Or something along those lines

So, UNCWs coach saw an opening and used that as leverage to demand his team not be forced into the same situation. Since the ncaa gave in to Fla St, they had no choice but to cave in here.

This was NOT weather related other than the weather being the reason the semi was pushed back and delayed.

Except if UNC-W happens to win game 1, the catcher is still playing a double header, just today instead of yesterday.

Right, but put your scenario on top of yesterday's game and it's 27+ innings w no rest.

No arguing hear. My guy heard it direct. That's why alleva came unglued.

Look, just reporting for the board what I know. Don't be a smartass and second guess every word. Skips words, why don't your smart arse email him and tell him his info is bad.

Huh? Either way the Catcher was going to be in potential of only 18 straight innings. Your scenario doesnt check out

Your scenario

Its not my scenario. It was spoken by skip. The catcher part of the discussion is in reference to the Fla st situation!

Im thinking 18 innings wasn't the issue, but may @& innings in "x" time frame may have been it. I have no clue on details of the FLa St appeal. Go check it out and let us know.

Again, I'm passing along what Skip said to my friend. Fell free to email Skip with problems you have with his sources.

The catcher excuse makes no sense. Put in another catcher. Imagine if we asked the NCAA to space out games a few days apart so we could throw our ace every game but need to make sure he has enough rest.

According to sources, representatives of the Wilmington athletic department requested a postponement from the NCAA after that decision was made for the Tallahassee regional.

I don't blame them for requesting. NCAA shouldn't have set the precedent earlier.

Won't be happening again. B'lee dat. The After Action Report and the "learns" from the post-tournament meetings will have some restructuring.

BTW-The request that was granted in the Tallahassee Regional was by a program that is in UNCW's same athletic conference. But I'm suuuuuuuuure that was just a coincidence.

So if we would've lost the first game, had another rain delay, we could've started the final game at 10:00?

Retards I tell you
