Officials, yes. Replay booth supervisor...not so much. I can't blame Miles for this.

That just about sums it up.

Does anyone know if the "in-booth" and "booth-to-field" conversations are recorded? My guess is that they are so that the SEC Office can review them if required.

Anyone know for sure?

Jim Hawthorne doesn't even know who the replay official was. He said he thought the replay official's name was Bradshaw, which is incorrect.

On the Les Miles show, Hawthorne said Dick Burleson's name was on the card, but he didn't think that was who was in the booth. He thought the guy's last name was RICHARDSON. I like JH to some degree, but he is NOTORIOUS for messing up names. Take his account with a grain of salt.

Richardson/Burleson

They all sound alike.

Field officials/referees - yes

Booth/replay officials - no

That's ridiculous to say that Les Miles needs to waste time worrying about replay booth officials.

Based on what happened Saturday Miles better waste some time on knowing before hand in the future!

I agree with you LE... BUT there have been plenty of times that I have turned an eye to things that appeared fishy but have dismissed because I thought well "it's just too far fetched."

I think considering his locality and the fact that he attends Alabama booster events warrants at least an investigation to find out at what level of support he is involved with the Red Elephants or Tide Boosters. etc...

My guess is that he attends as a guest speaker and not a supporter but I would be wary of the frequency in which he attends!

He fails this test miserably.

The dude looks too old to be an official for anything where you have to use your eyes...

You must be kidding.

I consider myself fairly reasonable, as do most people who know me. I also happen to know home-cooking when I see it.

Dick Burleson, LSU-Alabama replay supervisor:

"Qualifications" for his job:

1) speaks at Bama booster clubs for money

2) was good friends with Bear Bryant,

I'm not suggesting a conspiracy...but if there was not at least the appearance of impropriety, why would OOC teams work into their contracts to bring their own officials with them when they trek across the country for OOC games? Assuming all officials are as pure as the driven snow and regional bias would never EVER play a part, this seems like an unnecessary expense, don;t you think? what about bowl games...the officiating crew is always from a neutral conference. Why? Because it's assumed that it would be "fairer" to have a neutral officiating crew...but why would that be necessary?

I'm not exactly sure how to fix this issue short of removing the duties of officiang out of the individual confrence offices and placing them in the hands of Big Brother NCAA...but college footbal CLEARLY already shows by their behavior that there is an inherent fear of regional bias when it comes to officiating. Why would it be so hard to believe the same type of bias could rear it's head, not just on a regional bias, but on an even more local scale?

Was he actually in the booth????? That is what we need a definitive answer for. But I don't see anyone being able to get that answer all things considered.

I see that now. I think some of that has been added since last night when I read the entire thread.

Now I am super . There needs to be action taken by LSU because having someone paid by Bama boosters in the replay booth for a Bama game is downright cheating!!!!!

frick Bama and their notorious cheating asses. It just makes me sick.
