re: For those of you who didn't like Miles from the start- - wil
That game was it for me too. When Early Doucet was called for the illegal alignment that got Hester's TD called back I started having real doubts. Doucet was a 5th year senior and it was, I think, the 4th time he was called for that penalty that season. That doesn't happen with a competent coach ...

re: Peat saint 1st round draft choice - wil
Maybe the Saints 2 worst first round moves were trading the picks and getting totally ripped off. They once traded the 2nd overall pick in the draft to the Colts for Billy Newsome, a mediocre DE. The Colts picked Bert Jones out of LSU. The also traded the first overall pick for Gary Quazzo (sp) t...

re: Rob Ryan-SCAPEGOAT - wil
Good point about Browner getting away with holding before he came to the Saints. I don't think it's likely he just started the holding. ...

re: Rob Ryan-SCAPEGOAT - wil
And I thought the defense was playing better until the injuries occurred. The injury to Ellerbee had the worst effect. I think he's a huge factor when he's out there....

re: Rob Ryan-SCAPEGOAT - wil
The laugh just reinforces my point. He's doing pretty well in St. Louis but saying he was good on this board is laughed at. ...

re: Rob Ryan-SCAPEGOAT - wil
Was a safety (Byrd) worthn$54 million when your CBs can't cover people. As for Browner, all those replays of him holding people when he is called for it pretty much show his skills have eroded to, the point where he has to hold. It was interesting to hear Hokies Gajan say that exact same thing abo...

He may very well suck. But a lot of people thought the other guys sucked, and they're doing pretty well. My point is how can you tell with the def players we have....

Rob Ryan-SCAPEGOAT - wil
Most people seem thrilled that Rob Ryan was fired. Just like most people were thrilled when Greg Williams was fired. But Williams current team ( St Louis) has the number 7 scoring defense this year. Most people were happy when Gary Gibbs was fired, but his team (KC) finished 2014 with the second ...

re: As an Arkansas fan, here's the main problem I see... - wil
I agree 100%. He really hit the lottery getting the LSU job. He doesn't have any idea how to fix the problem. He doesn't really coach anything. ...

re: Short Passing Game (Stats included) - wil
On the Interception to start the second half, why were the WRs within 5 yards of each other anyhow? Or did I miss this?...

re: The lack of quick passes and a screen game is puzzling. - wil
This is exactly right. They used run blitzing constantly on first and second downs. They did not blitz on most passing downs after they were burned for the long TD when they ran a corner blitz (at least until the 4th quarter when I turned it off). They're front four did not manhandle our Oline by t...

re: Strength and Conditioning: Does it need to be re-examined? - wil
That's a linebacker coming totally untouched on a run blitz, which Alabama used on almost every first and second down. What could happen if Fournette was blocking on that play and a tight end ran a route where the LB came from? Also, Alabama used a safety on the wide side of the field almost ever...

re: T bob article on last night's game - wil
Based on T-Bob analysis, LSU may never beat Alabama again while Miles and Saban are the coaches. Because Miles will always have LSU be a power running team and Alabama will always have one of the best run defenses in the country. Harris was not under that much pressure when we passed after paly ac...

re: Former LSU QB Buddy Lee Died - wil
He was injured in the 2nd half against Ole Miss in 69. Ole Miss mad a great comeback to win while he was out. That was the closet Charlie Mac came to a Nat'l Championship. They were unofficially invited to play a 10-0 Texas in the Cotton Bowl (which was how it was done then). When Notre Dame broke...

re: All-Time Saints BUST team--must be drafted by team - wil
I think Sam Holden was injured severely in the old college all-star game when the SuperBowl Champions (in this case the Pittsburgh Steelers) played a group of 1st and 2nd round picks. Not so much a bust as just rotten luck, Maybe Cam Cleeland was the better choice as the TE pick?...
