I saw Sunday afternoon."

quote:

This is a drop of the ball by Greg Sankey. He should have ruled on the venue by Tuesday afternoon and instead he threw the ball to Jeremy Foley. Foley just kept tapping the brakes. What gets me is that Foley said that Wednesday night at 6 p.m. when he was driving home he was sure that the game would be played at 11 a.m. Saturday in Gainesville and then the storm took a radical turn to the West. That was not the case at all. He was lying about that. The storm path was very very close to what I saw Sunday afternoon.
quote:

Then Foley says Thursday afternoon he was worried about the safety of people in Gainesville. Well, we all understand just how devastating a storm can be and our sympathy is with the community, but if you were that worried Thursday afternoon, why weren’t you worried Wednesday afternoon. Foley had no intention of playing the game that week.
quote:

That SEC insurance policy for catastrophic events came into the money picture. But if I am the insurance company, I would object to paying that money to Florida since they had other options.

And a lot of other stuff - Coach O stories, other potential HC's, reduction of physical practice time, story on "The Rock" and what he had to say about Coach O, recruiting and more. https://www.dandydon.com/Mike_Detiller_on_Coach_O_Coaching_Search_and_Florida.php

I've thunk the same thought. I'd imagine that they'll certainly challenge.

This is bullshite. I followed this storm very closely from day 1. While it may have deviated a bit west, it was far from "radical". Gainesville was always slightly included or on the edge of the cone of probability from the start. Everyone knew a week ago that there was a chance that Gainesville could have been affected and contingency plans should have been made then. I'm sick of the excuses coming from Gainesville and Birmingham

Had UF DLine been healthy, the game would have been played. It was the deciding factor.

I was wondering about the insurance for the "lost" game the other day. With the "cloud" over all the info at best they could contest. I doubt they call Foley a liar and then bring up fraud.

But none of that is the point... right now Foley did what's best for UF, albeit very selfishly. So UF fans are either neutral or happy. But if they don't get that insurance payment, considering the opponent, that's a large chunk of money for the dept and local economy (as LSU fans well know). I wonder if their view on what he did changes if that occurs. Not that he cares, he's leaving anyway.

Also can't help but wonder if the insurance was the driving factor in him being so aggressive early on in the narrative. For someone in his position being that aggressive and having surrogates such a McMurphy put out lies (or feeding him lies, which he fell for) didn't make a lot of sense if there was no personal ax to grind. Having that much money involved taking such PR risks now makes more sense.

I'm going to insurance nerd here. I place some of these policies. I've actually done "first yell" for A&M for the past few years. Cancellation policies are some of the most liberal in the industry. Typically the carrier will pay on these without much fight, even without much proof of damages.

What? How in the hell is this best for Florida? He just basically publically stated that the Florida football team doesn't have the balls to play LSU.

If you were a recruit would you want to go to a university that will forever be tarnished with the "Too scared to play" moniker!!!!

It's best for UF because they didn't have to play us beat up AND if they don't play us at all the win% could possibly allow them to back into the SECCG.

And they still hosted recruits. If they are sticking to the narrative that almost everyone but us (LSU fanbase and LSU admin) has bought into, they did the right thing and we're the bitches. The only other SEC team that has our back right now is TN.

it was almost identical Monday, gainseville was on the edge of the projected path all week long, that never changed, yet foley expects us to believe that the plan was to get hit by a hurricane for 8 or so hours on friday afternoon, then have 100,000 people pack campus and play a football game 15 hours later.

thats the kind of lie a 5 year old tells, is beyond dumb, there is ZERO chance he ever thought that was a realistic scenario.

That's a strong conspiracy theory.

With that said the game could have been played considering that nc state and nd played

They won't lose a single recruit over being "too scared to play"

He was trying to show off how much his dick is right before entering retirement but apparently forgot to take his Viagra and now everyone's laughing at him.

Wait, Foley was worried about the safety of the people in Gainesville? Didn't he entertain recruits in Gainesville on Saturday?

It was all bullshite. Florida's women's soccer team traveled to Ole Miss and won 3-0 yesterday, hell it was on the SEC network. Their volleyball team traveled to South Carolina (of all places to travel to during the storm) and won 3 sets to none yesterday also.

The only sporting event including hosting recruits that UF cancelled this weekend was the LSU football game. Everything else happened like there never was a hurricane at all.

I hear people saying this but does anyone actually have knowledge of the terms of the insurance policy? Or a copy of a similar one? We can talk shite about what the insurance company should do or not, but knowing what the policy actually says would be important. Amiright?
