Bottom line is, that florida knew that there was a good chance that if there was a state of emergency put in effect for Gainesville, that the SEC commish would have no other choice but to cancel the game as it was scheduled.

Florida's refusal to reschedule for sunday, or Monday, guaranteed them a cancellation and not a postponement. They should be made to take the L in the form of a forfeit.

We actually drove through the UF campus Saturday about 12:30. No debris, No limbs down, No damage, No power outages for at least 60 miles. They simply should have delayed the game to Sunday or Monday. There didn't even seem to be any laying water or mud puddles. They could have easily made another decision on Saturday if need be. But I'm here to tell you it was great weather there on Saturday.

At the very least, on Thursday they could've announced the game was tentatively rescheduled for Sunday and have stadium workers and police on standby. Then they could've surveyed the damage to campus and Gainesville area Friday evening once the weather passed through and make a final decision Friday night or Saturday morning on playing Sunday or not. They would've been forced to play since Gainesville only had an inch or 2 of rain and 40-45 mph winds so almost no damage around UF campus.
