It's pretty damn silly to say LSU could have a "bama type backfield", considering we've been 3 or 4 deep at tailback for years now. Get your head right, boy.

I love watching Williams run, but no doubt Guice is going to contribute this year.

I think it's Williams and it's not very close. I think Guice gets more TOTAL yards, but less rushing. I see Williams as being a starter, like 1A to Fournette's 1. He's the perfect SEC Les-type punishing runner. I see Guice KILLING teams with the swing pass and delayed screens and stuff. Not to mention ko returns.

From what I have been hearing, I wouldn't be shocked to see Fournette and Guice get the lion's share of carries with Williams filling in the Kenny Hilliard role (come in late and pound a worn out defense).

The thing is... Look at how we have distributed the carries the last few years.

Last year, LF had 187 carries, Magee had 112, and Hilliard had 90. And almost half of Hilliards carries were in the first 3 weeks of the season when LF was figuring out the college game. After the first 3 games, he only had 1 game with double digit carries and only had 49 carries the rest of the season. So once the light bulb went off for LF, Hilliard averaged 4.9 carries per game the rest of the season.

2013 might be a better indicator of how we will distribute the carries for this season. We had a lead horse in Hill dominate the carries, like LF will. Hill had 203 carries, Magee had 86, Blue had 71, Hilliard had 68.

The "Magee role" has a bigger role than the backup power back. It's a great complement role to our lead RB. And that's the role Guice will have, but I think it will be expanded. He's so explosive and can score from anywhere on the field.

DWill might be listed as the RB2 or as LFs backup, but Guice will see more PT and touches than him due to his role and how we use him. And he will excel in that role.
