I don’t get the hate for 2020
He played 7/10 games and was injured for the other 3. If he never played in 2021 people could say he quit on 2020, but that’s not what happened

Only LSU fans would think the only true freshman in the HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL to be named a CONSENSUS ALL-AMERICAN is overrated and didn't live up to the hype.

No matter how much you knight for him, Stingley ain’t gonna frick you.
He was great in 2019… 2020 and 2021 seemed like he had only the NFL on his mind. Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. His play and his dad talking shite on radio shows didn’t help.

We were a bad team in general but especially on D, and then Sting's injury vs Bama got wrapped up in the late-season roster issues (Marshall's opting out, Arik leaving just after the Bama game). A "he's not really hurt and will opt out of 2021" narrative was born and people turned on him from there.
There was some serious catastrophe syndrome/ hysteria around these parts post-Bama, example "BJ Ojulari's leaving too, he's tight with Gilbert". The sky was falling and everybody was opting out/ transferring (though to be fair, we're kinda going through that now... ha).

I feel like I'm in the Twilight zone with you. You can't be serious. A player can play hard a year, then pack it in later. It is what it is. You are confusing me, I never discredited him for 2019...thought he was great. He quit the final two years, even when on the field. I'm sure at advice from his dad. You can't be real. If so, wow.

The crazy thing is he had such a good year in 2019 that he might be a top 10 pick two years later because of it. Dude didn't even play the last two years really.
