I remember the days when we played teams like the University of Houston and the stadium would be full but the outcome was in doubt... great days in Tiger Stadium(and the loud cursing was not coming from the students)

I feel like this thread is full of pussies (not you).
Oh nozz, the student section cursed. And? LSU is suppose to be known for the loudest, nastiest fans. And people are complaining about it?
LSU pretty much cut the nuts off the band too. All the cool chants that got the student section pumped is now gone too.

If yall want die hard fans, stop complaining every time the student section chants frick you in unison.

Monsoon, my son is a student there he stayed and we met after the game to buy him a nice dinner, he was shaking from being frozen due to being soaked to the bone. It was just an unusual event combined with it looked like we would just blow them away after half which we didn't

. The only section in the entire stadium that was full at any point of the game too.
It fills up early because it's first come first serve for seats. And it emptied out pretty quick at halftime.

Did you go to games in the 80's? If not you will never understand so just listen to your dad because he obviously has more to go by to make that statement.

I love how butthurt some of you get when it's pointed out that TS isn't what it once was. Look at all the great quotes about TS...they were made a long time ago.

Y'all freak out too much. We had an article written about us just last year during the bama game by SVP I think saying that our stadium was the most incredible atmosphere he had ever been a part of. I feel bad for some of your wives because I know y'all bitch more than them.

Start playing some real games at home then maybe someone other than big corp folks who could give two shits about LSU would come to the game to really watch and be a part of the game. Drinking age doesnt stop students from drinking. UAB Fordham or whatever the name of the school is? and TCU in FT worth. $50 tickets plus taf plus sur charge. And you think Tiger Stadium has changed. Do you want coonasses throwing oranges or folks leaving at halftime. Some of the folks that went nuts in stadium find it cheaper to watch at home were they can buy a case of beer cheaper than paying for home games with 3 good teams a year. Comes back to Dollars and Cents.

Because the trashy students ruined it for themselves and everyone else. They couldn't leave well enough alone.

See above. You must be trash to support the student section doing that.

This. All of this. I hate that people don't stay. It sucks, and it looks bad. And if you people on your high horses think it doesn't affect the players, you'd be incorrect.

But After thinking about this, LSU shares just as much blame. I'll go back to when I was a student in the early 00s. I had student tickets, and if I didn't want to go to the game, I could sell my ticket to another student, even right outside the gate. If I wanted to bring my girlfriend or little brother, who weren't students, I'd buy a ticket, take it to the ticket office, pay $30 for then to put a little sticker on it, and bring them to the game.

Then, LSU decided that system was broken, and not only doubled the price of student tickets, but started the retarded Ticket Exchange, which not only forced you to sell on that, but convienently charged a fee to do so. They also made you do ticket upgrades for non students or transfers to other students 48 hrs before gametime.

What happened? Tickets went unused, and all of the sudden LSU started selling gen admin seats in the student section.

Things like this, increased ticket cost, parking and tailgate restrictions have cheapened the gameday experience.

I'm so fricking sick of people's bitching and moaning.. Ive been to games in the 80's through last weekend and its always the same thing... "Back when I was in school it didnt matter what the weather or score was.. We came and stayed the whole time" And that's bullshite because Ive been to half empty games in each of the last 4 decades.
