People were wet, we were up 21-0 and they started to sober up. No other explanation. I am glad I turned down free tickets and watched the game at someone's house instead of sitting in the rain

Let's get a dry game and an opponent with a pulse, then judge if Tiger Stadium is the same or not.

Um, because the game wasn't over? Because there are only 7 home games per season, and you were at one of them? Because our team is awesome and you want to see them whoop a conference rival's arse? Because you want to be a good fan? So our fan base doesn't look like shite on national TV?. . . I could go on.

I have just as much fun at games where we blow out the other team as I do when the game is close. Opponent doesn't really affect my enjoyment of games in Tiger Stadium.

People constantly bring up the Alabama attendance last year, while that's great and all, it's just one home game a year. The other 6 are quite lackluster.

Whoops, meant to add I'd rather be in the stadium in a blizzard than sitting at home watching it on said TV.

So at what point in the week do we stop making these threads about the people leaving.

honestly, I am not sure the stadium was all that much different during the old days than it is now...I have been there pretty consistently since the '80s and I can tell you that in any year since that time, if you played a mediocre game during a driving rain, the stadium would not be full...

I think we have conjured up some idealistic situation in our minds that really did not exist...

Students don't have a true appreciation for how good we are. They didn't see anything before Saban era to understand. It's a spoiled fan base. Combine that with the mind blowing fact that more people would rather tailgate than go inside the game. I don't understand it.

this. a buddy of mine had a ticket to the game and elected to stay at the tailgate and watch on TV...

I agree whole-heartedly that we had a spoiled fan base. I was growing up during the Hallman era and saw the ugly end to the DiNardo era. I know the current position of the program and am thankful that we are actually as good as we are.

it baffles my mind that people were leaving so early. this was Auburn. I might understand if it was Vandy, or UL, or UL-Monroe, or Tulane...but it was AUBURN!! ...and it baffles me/pisses me off that we have a student section that can't clap to music (Pregame) but can scream "F*CK YOU AUBURN" in perfect unison. that was unnecessary

It could have been the "Game of the Century" again and people would still leave if it was rainy and nasty like that for so long. Maybe not as many, but maybe they'd still want to go somewhere else warm and dry to watch the game.

ETA: Maybe that's just one thing. Possibly people could be leaving because they're losers.

I guess people don't see that the student section was full an hour before kickoff. The only section in the entire stadium that was full at any point of the game too.
