saban is great yet still overrated as frick. he'd win anywhere but the ONLY reason he wins as much as he does now is because the REC buys him all the best players.

His 09 NC was not nearly as talented as many teams. He's a superb coach, and the best recruiter know to man. Talent doesn't always win games, LSU 2006, 2012, 2013, 2016 proves that.

I think sabans best coaching attribute is his attention to detail. His teams just don't make mistakes.

I'd pay him more than our HC.
I know that's goofy and why I'd never be in any administrative position. But dammit, the mans a defensive genius.

Aranda wasn't going anywhere as long as Coach O was the head coach

Non-sense. Aranda is going to get a ton of offers. He will leave if one of them is a head coaching offer.

quote:

Aranda is a very quiet guy, he doesn't want to spend his time meeting with the administration, the press, the donors, the alumni, the high school coaches, doing coaches shows, the civic clubs, the public, etc. He wants to spend his time doing what he loves best instead, analyzing offenses and defenses and studying film. He says he loves working for Coach O and aspires to be like Coach Ensminger.

Just because you are a quiet guy doesn't mean you have no head coaching aspirations. Saban is as personable as a wooden fence, but being personable isn't what the head coach is paid for. Sure, it may be part of the job he doesn't like, but I'm sure he'd be willing to do it if he was making over $4 million.

Just keep paying him top money for college or NFL and his chances of staying around are significantly increased.
