IMO he is very underrated on this board, after watching the spring game it's quite obvious he's not just some big bruiser. The kid is athletic and has some sauce. He might be the reason Fournette doesn't win the heisman.

or he might be one good reason he does

getting great reps and rest to keep the defense worn out for when Leonard is ready to come back in fresh and pound the rock

Everybody knows he is good. If you are a running back that gets a scholarship offer to LSU, you are good.

He is a better pure running back than Fournette is at this stage. The weight he dropped helped him tremendously and if Fournette drops to 225, we will have, by far, the best 1-2 punch at RB in the nation.

I understand the thought, but I don't personally recall a running back winning the Heisman because his backup was good and wore down defenses.

It's now so hard for a rb to win, diminished stats by another back being productive tends to make voters believe it's because of the line more than the back.

IF he were to even sniff the award, it would have to have nice rushing, receiving, and return yds factored in.

False. There isn't a metric on the field that supports that proposition. Fournette has more yards, more attempts, more yards per attempt, more receptions, more yards per reception etc. He's better on special teams.

There quite literally isn't anything that Williams does better or more efficiently than Fournette. It doesn't mean he isn't good, it just means you are wrong.

I'm speaking about what I saw from the spring game and stats from 2014 won't support my opinion either. Williams was better prepared to be a RB out of high school but wasn't better athletically than Leonard. That's the reason why he came to LSU.

DWill is a solid RB and I'm a fan... But gtfo with this shite . There has been nothing that supports that statement. At all. DWill had all of 17 carries vs SEC teams and averaged 4.0ypc. LF had 127carries vs SEC opponents and had 4.8ypc... Way more carries and almost 1 ypc more, and vs better opponents as well.

I'm excited about DWill and think he's a very solid RB... But come on. Better pure RB than LF at this stage? That's laughable.

Lendale White / Reggie Bush

ETA: Not that I believe that either... just the closest I could come up with off the cuff.

Leonard could play every skill position and succeed in some form. Williams is strictly a RB and is better at being a RB than Fournette. Obviously Fournette is much more athletic and that's why he tarts but Williams has better RB fundamentals. Fournette said himself that he would be a better LB than RB anyway

eta: that gif tho

Yep, 10 yrs ago when rb's were sexy to the voters.....even then, Bush had a ton of receptions and return yds if I recall

Once again...

That statement is 100% false. Just because DWill didn't struggle early on or have a slow start or whatever doesn't make him a better RB. Just because his game translated to the college level quicker than LFs did doesn't make him a better RB than LF. Only thing that matters is what they do on on the field, and LF is better on the field. Period.
