I know we won't get the answer we want, but a lot of us are wondering why DA and others were giving so much leeway with all of this. I posted a "joke" about Mett walking around campus being unhappy and got the post whacked and a PM

I don't know dalsu, but I can say this....
L Cook is one of Jimbo s closest friends from way back. Cook spoke with Jimbo last week.
The deal was absolutely on the table, period! I have no clue why it fell apart or which side was responsible. But it was there and at the time, jimbo thought it was close to done.
Robert is Cooks oldest son and I speak with him often.
I guess I'll hear something soon about what may have happened. Busy week for ND being in the dome..
Oh well...it is what it is, and nothing is "done" till the papers are signed...dalsu jumped the gun a bit, lol

i don't understand why people can't remember that da wasn't the only person with pretty much the same story. multiple people who know different people were in agreement on the events. no one person had the full story because no one source had the complete picture. but the overall story was basically the same from various angles.

Done deal means the contract is signed. It means the "deal" is done.

It is obvious that something was going on or it wouldn't have been a farewell to Miles party on the field after the game. Miles and his family, and the players acted like it was his last game. Why would they act like that?

These things are always fluid and all the right pieces have to fall into place at the right time. No way would I post "done deal" even if Alleva himself told me.
And the guy was also saying that coordinators were already lined up and people believed him
We didn't even have contact with Jimbo outside of maybe some feelers out there and people though he was already assembling his staff because of BS from DALSU

K. Can we agree there is a difference between believing it was a done deal (which I've already stated was a mistake) and believing things were in the works? Because make no mistake, most of the detractors were trying to tell us that nothing was happening at all.
