+1. I was screaming at the TV for him to take until he had a strike and then bunt. There aren't 5 D-1 coaches in the country who would have let Raph swing at that pitch. Idiot.

You bunt Rhymes. He is a great contact hitter and will try to make contact on anything even if that means reaching across the plate and hitting into a weak double play.

Not sure if he should have been bunting or not, but he sure as hell should have been taking at 2-0 with a pitcher having trouble throwing strikes.

I mean did Maineri really think Rhymes was gonna get a flat 4 seam fastball with no movement on 2-0? The guy is a sidewinder. Every pitch he throws has movement. And you take off the bunt?
I'm sorry but you've got a better chance of getting a bunt down on a moving fastball than you've got trying to drive the same pitch, JUST because it's 2-0.

I know the bats sucks, but the little bit I've watched them play, I don't have a ton of confidence in them lighting up the scoreboard. Hope it's just a slump. NC is going to be another 1-0 or 2-1 game. Hope we're on the plus side.

Dumbfounded. So we produce piss poor defense with multiple errors. We don't bunt Raph in the bottom of the ninth. We allow the lead off runner 7 straight innings. A fricking epitome of shitting the bed.

When guys continue to square up to bunt before the pitcher is out of tbe stretch you have to throw inside heat. Nola let atleast 4 of those guys do that + a guy on 2nd trot to third then score. So many mental mistakes by a seasoned team.

im pissed but man I don't understand his hitting tonight.
we are not playing in Rosenblatt we are playing in a park where you play line drive baseball to score runs.
Like they said the winds in this park are different than the other and you have to play situational hitting and it seemed all our guys were trying for the home run.just very disappointing the way our team played tonight.
I don't mind losing but does anyone here feel like they are the better team.
UCLA sucks and are not a good team.
But we gave it to them and that is what is so hard to take.
give em 1 run ok but all the runs they scored is because our defense couldn't make the basic baseball play.
you don't win the college world series playing that kind of defense.
