I will not put out any names, but a concept...

I am tired of recycled coaches who have arrived and demand a lot of money, only to sit on their asses...

I think it is time to look at schools like Boise St., Tulsa, Cincinnati, etc...you get the idea,(don't get hung up on the name) who are putting up good numbers and developing QBs...

we do not need the Charlie Weiss's of the world...
big pay little return on investment

Remember, we are not talking HC, just OC.

Whoever the hell runs that machine called the New Orleans Saints offense. Pay him and he will move 70 miles up the road.

A dead Vince Lombardi propped up in the booth is better than Crowton.

Norm Chow.

I couldn't tell you if that's a reasonable option, it's just who I'd like.

not sure what he is up to these days is he an OC somewhere. But obviouly if you could pull this off it would be a homerun.

He's the offensive coordinator for UCLA as far as I know. He was with the Titans for a few years but he's back in college now.

That Brady guy is pretty good and I don't know if you remember him in college but he was no world beater. He got Brady Quinn playing pretty good and he has look pretty terrible without Wiess. Hell he's even got one of the Klaussen boys in the Heisman race....I don't know if he is the best choice but I think we could do a lot worse. Don't get me wrong he is a terrible head coach but I think he is a good QB developer and OC and if you believe in the whole star system he's a good recruiter. He defiantly can use the Saban recruiting line "...I know what it takes to make it to the NFL and I can help you get there"

Sometimes this works out well but sometimes you end up with Dan Hawkins or Tony Franklin. I think it is a very critically point to be gambling like this...with a solid year next year we still have a chance to salvage the image of the program as first tier program on a national level.

If Les can pull this off, he may very well have saved his own arse. Norm Chow is one of the best OC/QB coaches in the land. Chow would have JL and JJ playing like all-stars.

I don't know if there is a better QB coach than Norm Chow.

from his wikipedia:

In 23 seasons as an offensive coordinator, Chow coached 8 of the top 14 career passing-efficiency leaders, and 13 quarterbacks who rank among the top 30 in NCAA history for single-season passing yardage. His list of pupils include: Steve Young; Philip Rivers; Robbie Bosco; and, Heisman Trophy winners Ty Detmer, Carson Palmer, and Matt Leinart.

If Chow is just an OC at UCLA, then Les should offer him his own wife to come here. I dunno if that would be enticing enough, so offer a lot of $$$$ too.

Eh, his offenses are what got Tubbs fired I thought. Tubbs was forced to go spread bc people were tired of running up the middle.
