Could this be any easier for Joe Alleva?

One thing is certain, everyone acknowledges that the LSU job is at or near the top of all available openings. It shouldn't be difficult to sell the fact that the last 2 LSU coaches have won NC's and the recruiting advantages are obvious.

Fisher may or may not be interested but we have the leverage to vet that out very quickly. No need to wait around if he isn't ready to pull the trigger.

Chip Kelly's situation couldn't be better for Alleva whether he's interested or not. His agent is already locked in which puts pressure on every other candidate to move quickly. He'd be a great choice if interested but also won't have leverage to drag this out.

There are probably 3-4 additional candidates who would be great choices and will only need a binding offer to make a move. The situation with the 2 candidates above will only provide Alleva with leverage to close quickly.

If this were musical chairs, the LSU seat is the brightest and there are a bunch of guys wanting to jump in. The only way Alleva fricks this up is if he locks in on a guy who isn't ready to sign. For a sales guy, it really doesn't get any easier than this.

LSU is a great job. But so is USC and Miami. Being an AD trying to hire a HC against those schools is NOT an easy job, anyone pretending otherwise is just uninformed.

No, but will this lessen the chance that he completely screws this up? No, no it doesn't.

I see it the same way in terms of sales leverage and closing pressure.

Things like this are actually pretty tough.

You're taking a risk not only on firing a guy but also that you can get your target from a place with similar amenities and that can match your price. Plus, the fans will have high expectations not only on the skill of the hire but on the name.

If he gets publicly rebuffed, shite can spiral out of control with the quickness.

Same could have been said about LSU in 2000. For the right coach, its a great job.

How is it a great job? There is no fan support, no administration support, no facilities. Yes, it is great for recruiting due to the area, but that is it. 15/20 years ago when every school had crappy facilities, yes it was a great school to coach at, but not anymore.

wrong about DA U, it isn't a great job and their academics are actively trying to kill their athletics. They are also trying to get away from the swag they once possessed.

This is a two school race for best job between us and USC

There is no fan support because they have been in the shitter for 6 years. Miami is a fickle town, if you're good, you're supported...if not, oh well. With winning comes fan support. With fan support comes money. With money comes better facilities. Miami has brand recognition and 5 national titles to boast. As you mentioned its a hotbed for recruiting and has been since the 70s.

I can see your point though. If we are talking right now vs LSU and USC...they are lower tier. I am just saying with the right coach they could be back to the top.

and Adam Schefter ruled out USC for Kelly. I don't see Fisher being highly likely to head that way either if it's between us and them.

I will give you USC but Miami is a dumpster fire. There is no comparison between Miami 1990 and Miami 2015.

They can't fill one section of their stadium, err the stadium they play in.

Miami is not a great job. Facilities are bad, no on-campus stadium, private school and lackluster fan support in a notoriously fair-weather sports city.
