Zoos get tigers. I have seen many Zoos with habitats less elaborate than ours. This talk is just ridiculous. Our tiger is well treated.

This Leahy gal is FOS. She is clearly against live mascots. She probably shouldn't be speaking on behalf of zoos and animal sanctuaries that she's not affiliated with, either.

So yes, it is likely that the tradition of live tigers on campus ends with Mike VI.

Yeah, OK

Didn't we establish the last time this article was posted that Leahy was a PETA member? If so, her view is completely biased with likely little factual support for her assertions. Move on.

That article is Germans as frick. Thanks for reposting Rebekah Allen's hit piece that was written for The Advocate three weeks ago. Almost all of the so-called experts quoted in that article have ties to PETA. In other words, just like the article, the people quoted have an agenda. They would rather see tigers die in the wild and become extinct than see one live like a king in a habitat at LSU.

You're reading too much into it I think. The bottom line is that acquiring a rare, endangered big cat isn't easy. When Mike VI finally heads to the great gig in the sky I'm confident LSU will find a replacement, but there are hurdles to jump.

Someone I once worked for defined an expert as "a fool who couldn't find their way home." Hmmm...

Get him a piece of pussy, pun intended, and start breeding our own line of Mike the Tigers.

Everybody wins, and Mike gets laid on the regular.

How so? Because I don't trust the information in an article that only quotes people who are against LSU keeping a live tiger on campus? The are two sides and the article did a great job of presenting one of them.

Well those people are essentially the same people that decide whether or not we get a tiger. They're also the ones who would know best our chances of getting one.

However, conditions for obtaining a live tiger have changed since 2007, when Dr. Baker obtained Mike VI.

The interview is from the Humane Society. There is not an acceptable way to treat an animal in captivity according to them.

Hopefully the time for this is many years down the road, when it happens LSU will find one IMO, just don't ask the Humane society.

As I posted earlier, this article was designed to provide "cover" for the ultra left wing goobers we have as administrators at LSU when they decide NOT to continue our tradition of having a live tiger. F. King, et al will "hide" behind some/all of the items listed in the article.

An exception was made for Tony.

Once Tony dies, the truck stop guy is out of the tiger business.

I think "they" are setting us up for disappointment.
