Don't we normally hire a search firm?... - Addison Tiger
I could be wrong, but I remember that last two times we hired a search firm to assist with our coaching search. I always thought that was kinda ridiculous, but now I'm starting to think that Alleva could have used that kind of help. Anyone remember this? I thought they actually found Saban for us....

at a lesser power 5, that just means we'll be able to hire him back as our coach in 2 years when O gets canned. :nana:...

re: Is Aranda the next Saban?... - Addison Tiger
I meant the check the boxes as a general comment around if a coordinator checks all the boxes, then we shouldn't ignore him because he doesn't have head coaching experience. Ultimately Alleva and the Powers that be need to decide that based on their first-hand knowledge. I agree that he is somew...

re: Is Aranda the next Saban?... - Addison Tiger
Agree, and there are plenty of examples of the transition not working. But eventually there are those coordinators who do have what it takes, and if they check the boxes and if you feel they have what it takes then you have to give them a shot, whether or not they have the experience. There ar...

Is Aranda the next Saban?... - Addison Tiger
I know it's too early to tell, but everything points to this guy having the ability to be a great head coach. It would make me sick if we could have had him and passed him up just because he lacks the 'experience'. As long as we keep the defense as good as it is, any top flight OC would be jumping...

re: SEC Defense National Rankings - Bama Edition - Addison Tiger
Yeah, our offense is in a similar boat, but hard to compare becuase of the coaching change and small sample size. We know Bama has a good defense and will be a challenge. I was more interested in whether their offense was really as good as their numbers indicate....

re: SEC Defense National Rankings - Bama Edition - Addison Tiger
Agree that Bama's been over the average yards these teams have allowed (450-500), but these teams have all played 6-7 games at this point. I think Bama's offensive numbers have been close enough to not skew these to where the numbers are inflated (except against Tennessee). ...

SEC Defense National Rankings - Bama Edition - Addison Tiger
After looking at some threads saying that Bama's offense is one-dimensional, not that good, etc, I was curious about the quality of their opponent's defenses. They have scored a lot of points on teams, but how good are these defenses they are facing. This is what I found (Bama opponents in bold): ...
Just looking at the top movies now The Legend of Tarzan is a critics 36% and audience 69%. By this logic the critics are being paid to hate this movie. Looking at the audience score of a movie is a flawed metric since people on the Internet can rate things without seeing them, particularly th...
People have generally liked the movie from what I've seen.
Around half of the 78,000 audience reviews on rotten tomatoes disagree. I haven't seen the movie, so don't have an opinion, just curious about the discrepancies on rotten tomatoes and whether it's really accurate, or hones...

Has Rotten Tomatoes jumped the shark?... - Addison Tiger
And is Ghostbusters the movie to do it? This isn't a thread to comment on your opinion of Ghostbuster, just to look at the numbers. I don't see how there can be such a discrepancy in the audience/critic reviews (49% vs 73%) without there being some under the table stuff going on. In looking at ...

re: Most Boring CWS in my lifetime - Addison Tiger
I guess I just meant small ball in general, I.e. The ability to move the players around, good base running, etc. Maybe TCU is one of the exceptions as they've actually been able to hit home runs, but the pitchers still aren't being punished for their mistakes which isn't the intent of the game....

re: Most Boring CWS in my lifetime - Addison Tiger
I would venture to say it takes much more controlled skill, game planning, and patience to win games in the CWS now as compared to gorilla ball where even an average hitter could get lucky and crank one over the fence.
The problem is they went too far and now Pitchers are the one...
