Double tight formation with Landry cracking down on the end is what is frustrating. Lets just yell to the other team "WE ARE RUNNING OFF TACKLE"

Agreed. Don't mind the running. Our running much more effective when we spread the defense out.

Are you aware that it is possible to run the ball in a manner that is not hopelessly predictable?

deSandman where do you come up with this bullshite.

Second half drives... what REALLY happened.

Drive 1. cam called a run. Les overrode that and put in a pass play. interception

Drive 2. Les head set problems. Cam calls all plays. Touchdown.

Drive 3. 61 yards. Les killed drives with another over ride of Cam. Cam wants to kick FG, but les overrides again. Fake fails.

Drive 4. Again more headset issues.

Drive 5. Les tells OBJ to push off on the defender.

Drive 6. Kneel, kneel, kneel.

drive 7. pass out of bounds to kill the clock three times in a row.

That is what really happened!

8 yards in the 4th quarter is my only complaint.

Agree with the OP, also like the fact that our young defense got a chance to face a little bit of adversity.

Forget about the "process" and trust the "Method"

Well..... how many long passes did you see? We are a BIG play team in 2013. There was none of that. That is conservative (IMHO). We DID NOT play to score quickly. Bad, Bad, Bad decisions! You are misled my friend. That was conservative by LSU standards this year. Secret will be out after Georgia. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Conservative Play-calling in 2nd half ... overblown critique
Our 3rd quarter looked good because we had to respond when Auburn scored their touchdowns. It was the 2nd and 4th quarters where we went ultra conservative.

Plays when we were up 21 points:
2nd Q:
rush, rush, pass, punt
rush, (15 yd pen gives us 1st), rush, rush, pass, punt
rush,sack,rush,punt
(then Auburn gets 4th down with over a minute (1:15?) left and we let them run the clock down to 35 seconds before punting.)
knee

3rd Q (up 21)
pass
rush, rush, pass, rush, pass, rush, pass, pass, punt

4th Q (all plays)
rush,rush,rush,rush,pass,punt
rush,rush,pass,punt
rush,rush,rush,punt
knee

Basically we got 4 1st downs (one from an unsportsmanlike penalty) in 8 drives when we were up by 3 scores in the 2nd and 3rd Q's or 2 scores in the 4th.

I count 16 rushes vs 9 passes excluding kneel downs. 5 of the 9 pass plays were on 3rd downs.

Not sure if serious

Jeremy Hill rush for 49 yards to the AU0, 1ST DOWN LS, TOUCHDOWN
Drive: 3 plays, 57 yards, TOP 00:53

Jeremy Hill rush for 10 yards to the AU0, TOUCHDOWN
Drive: 1 plays, 10 yards, TOP 00:03

Jeremy Hill rush for 54 yards to the AU1, 1ST DOWN LS,
J.C. Copeland rush for 1 yard to the AU0, TOUCHDOWN
Drive: 4 plays, 73 yards, TOP 01:38

Z. Mettenberger pass complete to Travis Dickson for 45 yards to the AU8, 1ST DOWN LS
Jeremy Hill rush for 6 yards to the AU0, TOUCHDOWN
Drive: 7 plays, 75 yards, TOP 02:31

Z. Mettenberger pass complete to Jarvis Landry for 32 yards to the AU0, 1ST DOWN LS, TOUCHDOWN
Drive: 7 plays, 81 yards, TOP 03:08

So our longest scoring drive (time wise) was 3:08. Sounds like we scored pretty quickly.

You're being a little deceptive on your 2nd Quarter drive descriptions.

quote:

rush, (15 yd pen gives us 1st), rush, rush, pass, punt

That first "rush" was a pass play and a scramble by Mettenberger.

So there were 2 passes called and 3 rush attempts on that possession

quote:

rush,sack,rush,punt

Again the second rush attempt in this sequence was a Mettenberger scramble.

So 2 passes called and 1 rush attemp.

Just becaue a play didn't work doens't make it conservative.

are you aware that it is possible to run the ball in a manner that is predictable and it still be a positive play?

Sorry, thought it was a fumbled snap.

Called it "sack" but counted it as "pass" when adding up plays.

Sorry about the confusion but it was a) not intentional and b) just looking at the play calling up 21 you can see that it was very conservative.

Heck, anyone who watched the game could see that that the offense got ugly and passive in that 2nd quarter.

One was a sack another was a "rush" by Mettenberger.

Probably, not sure about passive though.

4th Q (all plays)

That's a very misleading way to describe the first drive of the fourth quarter.

There was a false start, then a rush on first and 15 that picked up 11 yards, then a rush that picked up 5 yards and a first down.

Then there was a rush on first down that got a yard.

Then there was a deep pass attempt on second and 9 that resulted in a negative 15 yards for offensive pass interference and left us facing 2nd and 24 from around the 30 yard line.

You can't just leave that play out of your description of the drive.
