Bama, OSU, and Michigan all made great hires because the timing was perfect.
Revisionist history. Alabama offered the job to rich Rodriguez and he turned them down. Michigan fired hoke while hat aught was still coaching the 49ers.

Prior to 2012 games were big family fun. Now its not. We need a new coach to bring life into the program

Perfectly written. I, like you, have become apathetic. I don't get as excited for game days. I just go through the motions and enjoy everything about football season except the actual game. If nothing else, this will inject excitement back into the fan base at least for a little while. We may make a clunker of a hire, but we also may make a dominant hire. At least we won't be on the same flat line.

The truth is, going to games has become an exercise in frustration for me.

For me LSU football has become uninspired and tedious. Even with a generational player like Leonard Fournette, I sit in the stadium year after year, watching an inept quarterback ,an unimaginative scheme, talented players going largely unused, game after game with a perpetual face palm. Taking away the awesome tailgating, the brotherhood and the pageantry, going to LSU games has actually become more stressful than joyful.
This is a huge reason this is happening, and only LSU fans understand it.
All the media morons and other teams' fans aren't the ones investing money, time, and emotion into this program, only to be thoroughly UNentertained. At the end of the day that's what football is. For the first time in my young LSU life I turned off a game that we were WINNING (Miss St.) because it was too frustrating to watch.
That's not how winning should feel.

This started in 2005

Agree with everything except your timeframe.
My support of Miles ended with his laser focus on Jefferson. Despite what Lee did vs. Tenn, Fla, & Bama in 2010, and being one of the most efficient QBs in the SEC in 2011, Miles was dead set on strangling off the offense with JJ
I was ready for him to go after 2011
Nothing has happened since then to make me rethink that decision

I love the way guys like you come on here and say, "I know I'm going to get killed for saying this, but..." And then you go on and say what is clearly the opinion of the vast majority of Tiger fans.
Notice your votes; it's like 50 to 2 in favor. Quit acting like you're a courageous poster speaking truth to power. For the record: I, too, agree with your post.

Exactly how every person in the section I sit in feels.

I wasn't trying to "act like I'm courageous", I was just trying to state my opinion and keep the OP on topic. The last 'courageous thing" I did was stay to the end of The Troy game in 2008.

Post last-ever Les Mile Show bump. Les Freaking Miles, dealing with this great disappointment and the upheaval, seemed most worried about his players and consoling broken-hearted fans. The man exudes class and grace and reminds us again of why we were lucky to have him and why we will miss him. Even if you welcome the prospects of a new approach and a new coach as I do, you have to tip your hat to the man. Good luck Coach ! You will be greatly missed !

Pimp, as much as this hurts, you probably nailed it. VERY well said, and I love Les. It may be time to move on, but Les did great things at and for LSU. We won't forget him...

Agreed. The idea of LSU playing a game and Les not being a part of it makes me feel almost sorrowful.
99% of these people that are bashing LSU have never pulled for LSU a day in their lives. They have just latched on to the nearest simplistic narrative. And others (check out the SEC RANT) hate LSU and are using it to slur LSU and damage it and get shitty, cynical "poor Les" Narratives started, after they have mocked the man for a decade.
LSU fans aren't being petulant, we are setting aside our personal affection for the good of the program. This is the opposite of a rash decision. It's taken YEARS for most to get to this point.
As for Les "loyalists"- God bless them. He is certainly worthy of being loyal to. He is a good and decent man and had a helluva good run. I'm so happy we hired him in 2005 and saying goodbye will be extremely difficult for me.

Have an up vote. I've been talking about the stressful nature of games for the past 7-8 years. We always seems to play down to opponents and rarely ever get and keep a comfortable lead.

You've been pimping Miles for a long time. You seem like a reasonable and intelligent person. The only question is what took you,so,long. This change has been over due for years.

I'm going to bump this again on the off chance that somebody who is supposed to be "Informed" will take the time to get informed about how LSU fans actually feel about this. All these half-witted tirades are nothing more than emotional meltdowns and score-settling- Total low-hanging surface level histrionics. Most of these people being so solemn and respectful and sanctimonious now and raging against the way Les "is being treated" are the same arse clowns who promoted the idiotic, bumbling "The Hat" meme at his expense for years. This decision is being made for a very REAL reason, and one that LSU fans have been torn about for years. Is it too much to ask that somebody steps up with our perspective , or are all these guys as lazy and troll-motivated as the bottom-feeders on the SEC Rant who are absolutely obsessing and melting down about this?
