I bet GoodOleLess's nose grew a foot or 2 after hinting that the problem with our offense was execution, rather than play calling. It was also refreshing to lay more blame on the players failures, rather than firing his useless a-hole buddy Cam. And to top it off, we get to play Florida A&M in the commode bowl in a week. I'm not even sure any more that anything will change for the next decade. Empty seats are the only thing that might bring a pre-'25 coaching change. Maybe the Saints will try to lure GoodOleLess away to save their sinking ship. Maybe Browner would body slam GOL before he retires, which obviously would have to happen after 2025 when the LSU buyout is through. How about Aleva as Saints GM ? Man, the possibilities are unlimited.

Still ranked what, 7th in the SEC in offense that year?

I posted that the other day and got ripped about it being a skewed metric, etc. They were 6th in scoring. 6th with an unbelievable and most likely unsustainable level of efficiency.

That 2013 O was beyond stacked...

-James wright has more catches in the NFL than he did on that team.

-2 Olineman fromthat team are starting in the NFL

-Our backup running back (blue) has multiple 150 yd games for the texans.

-Russell Shepard has a TD catch this year.

Decent compliments to mett/hill/Jarvis and, the cover of madden, Odell beckam...

Is your point really that the LSU offense was only good because of talent and execution?

uh, that was precisely Miles' point in his presser yesterday. Lack of execution

So if you dont like his point, then you must agree its time for Miles to go, because Miles holds the same view. "Its not my playcalling, its lack of execution."

But realistically, it just really means you didnt think your post thru before hitting submit, did you? You are so quick to defend Miles, that you actually fricked him over

OK, sooooo. . . Better talent + better execution = better offense.

Thats clearly Miles take. Is he wrong?

Coach Miles clearly implied that execution, not coaching, was the problem with the Tigers’ offense this season.

If so, then you'll join the "Help Miles Pack" brigade, right?

Harris to Johnson would be just as dangerous, you know, if we did it.

Well yeah man, if the wrs don't make plays your passing game will suck.

That's true for every fricking team out there. Why our fans continue to shite on our program with ifs and buts.

OK so if Jennings doesn't play in 2.5 games LSUs offense would have been ranked in the top 15 that season.

It was run. Run. Throw on third and medium or third and long. The offense was not opened up.

You speak the truth...I think we wasted some talent and anyone who disagrees needs to look at their stats in the NFL

James wright had 21 receptions at LSU. He won't even sniff that number in the NFL.

That team had some talent. But so do most other teams as well. Just look at Jimbo, when he had Jamis and Jmarc his offenses were good. When he had Marcus Randall, they were atrocious.

So his offense works with NFL qbs and not so much without one. Go figure.

Yet those players were a shadow of their 2013 selves just a year earlier. But people expect the same results from a group of true sophomores.

The offense was exactly the same. We just had multiple players that are not only playing but excelling in the NFL.

Trai Turner
Collins
ODB
Jarvis
Mett
Hill

Stacked.

I disagree. Help me out. Which players we talking about here?

And no, RS playing on ST doesn't mean LSU wasted his talent. It's the only reason he's in the NFL.

It is skewed. The diff from being top 30 to top 15 is only a couple of hundred yards. In 2013 Jennings played in 2.5 games. Les is also known for not running up the score.

LSU could have had much better numbers if they chose too. And that's a fact.

I just wanted to refresh your memories. The offense did our players no favors that season.

they both had 1000 yards, and Mett had 3000. i think it worked fine

I know you are thinking about those Ole Miss picks, but thats because Mett was forcing the ball. There was a big gain underneath open both times, that Mett Ignored to force it up to Odell.

The offense in '13 was not very different than what we have today. Yes we threw across the middle of the field more but we had an NFL caliber QB to make those throws. Still a lot of gos and streaks, very little screen, and TE involvement. We just didn't care because of the two studs on the outside making plays.

I think the 2013 offense was very similar to the 2014 offense, just with better players. This season it looks like they have put a lot more emphasis on trying to be less predictable and one dimensional. I

It's just the pace of development of the offense has been very slow, then November came, and it all fell apart. Against aTm, a much easier opponent, they were able to get it going again to some extent.

Harris also limited the amount they could do, but even with him they stuck with it a lot more than in past seasons. 2014 offense didn't even try to be unpredictable or to do anything different until the aTm game when they added the jet sweep and read option (which for LSU seemed like a major step foreward)

did you watch the saints game yesterday? Did you notice how they called and designed plays to get their stud #1 wr matched against our rookie linebacker over and over?

We never do that. For us, if the qb can't make a 40 yard handoff and the wr can't beat a double team, we're doomed.
