it didn't seem like he was too far off.

I seriously doubt that.

I agree

Terrible call... too wet, too windy, too cold and too far.

Not making a first down on that last drive killed any chance of winning the game.

so what...I agree that he has the leg to do it, but what are the percentages of actually not going to far left or right from 63 yds away???

it is pretty solid. fg 0 chance, hailmary maybe 1 percent chance. its clear the hailmary was the better choice.

He has the leg to do it if you don't account for the wind. I read Colt has hit from 65-67 before in practice.

When you put it in perspective, only two guys in NFL history have kicked one that long and one played in Denver.

By this stat alone, I'm saying bad call.

I misread his post. Thought he said fg was possible. I actually agree with him. I'll edit it.

he MIGHT have the leg to do it in perfect conditions and the wind blowing with him. that is just a might and not even likely in a game that he has the leg.

with the wind blowing at him, rainy and freezing he had 0 shot

I'd take that bet any day of the week.

He doesn't even kick off for us because his leg isn't strong enough.

the calls before that with timeouts and good field position left most people scratching their heads.

There is a huge difference between a 60+ yard kick in TS, in warm-ups, with little wind, in good weather, without a stadium full of people screaming at you and without 11 guys trying to block the kick, and trying to hit a 63 yard kick to win the last game of the season, awat, wind blowing against you, in the cold, etc. etc. etc.

There was less than zero chance of making that kick. Not only was there a better chance of a hail mary, but at least there's a chance for a pass interference. Maybe the worst call I've ever seen.

A hail mary also gives you an outside chance at a penalty by the defense (mainly pass interference). His fg attempt was just sad, he barely reached the endzone.

In those conditions, into a 12-15 mph wind, he can set it up and kick it till the cows come home and he won't hit it.

practice is not the game sorry he doesn't have the leg. colt is not superman or elam

i like colt but even the best kicker probably misses that.

are you fricking serious? it was the worst call ever. colt cant hit it from 63 esp in the cold and wind blowing at him. the hailmary from 46 yards out is a higher percent play than a fg that has 0 chance

Good luck finding someone on the team that knows how to throw it that far. Even if they reach it would probably be so far out of bounds. Then everyone would have wondered why we didnt kick.

I'd almost think that rather than send the house to the end zone...send a couple guys underneath to hopefully isolate a receiver streaking down the sidelines...which would help for an interference call. Don't just toss it up after running around. See if you can TRY and hit a guy in stride...
