I'm not one of those "bitch about early polls" guys, because the season is long and things have a way of taking care of themselves.

However, Fitt's justification last week was that the teams ahead of LSU "played stronger schedules.” Confronted withe empirical evidence that LSU has played the toughest schedule of them all, he resorts to the "who do we drop and we had LSU too low to begin with" rationale?

That's pretty week, I must admit. What is the purpose of the poll if not to rank the teams according to how good they are? What a lame evasive answer.

Word it's his poll and he has a right to his opinion but his justification was proved completely wrong. And he had no answer.

I agree that he sounds contradictory from week to week but the story of "if teams above win and don't make a convincing case to be dropped then they stay there" is pretty consistent from BA.

Either way you hit the nail on the head. It will all sort itself out in the long run. if LSU continues to win, especially against the strong SEC west teams, they'll be up there in no time in the top 2 or 3.

And at this point in the season, I don't think there's much difference in the top 10 at all. Too many cupcakes played. UVA included

Yet they have already jumped teams over LSU. Teams who have played a weaker schedule to date and LSU obviously hasn't lost a series yet.

They put a lot of stock in Ole Miss sweeping TCU that week. they've admitted that TCU is playing very underwhelming ball this week so I think knowing what they know now they wouldnt have jumped LSU.

But yes, I see your point.

I did. Which is why I still think BA poll is a joke even if some believe it to be the most credible overall.
