you are coming off as saying something along the lines of "I bet coach Mainieri wishes he had Cody this year, shouldn't have cut him, because he's ultra awesome

Sorry doclsu, but after reading your post, josh's quote is kind of how I took as well.

its possible that he wouldnt have the same numbers here as he has there but it wouldnt hurt to have him right now considering jones is out, dean and landry are in a pretty bit slump, helenihi is garbage and sure mahtook had a good game last night but what has he done prior to that?

Who's offering him a partial scholar ship next year? Any chance he could end up at LSU?

no chance of him being back at lsu. PM asked him to come back next season but you really cant expect somebody to go back to a school that cut them

no shite? ya think?

He couldn't beat any of the outfielders out in practice but you think his numbers in JC ball somehow point that he would be able to beat them out now?

I appreciate you taking up for your buddy and trying to take a shot at LSU, but use a little common sense, please.

Well, to present a less bitter pro-Cody Reine position, I think it sucks that Manieri had to let him go. Cody is an old friend of mine and a great player...I would have loved to see him succeed in purple and gold, but it wasn't in the cards. I have a feeling he'll do fine wherever he ends up...it's just unfortunate that it didn't work out at LSU.

I think LSU will do fine without him, and I think he will do fine without LSU.

Depends on the parting circumstances. PM took JT Wise's scholarship away and Wise still wanted to return to LSU and pay his own way. Things don't always work out to our expectations initially but that doesn't mean they won't in the long run. I don't know Cody Reine but if he's that thin skinned than maybe we don't need him.

While poorly worded, that's a nice sentiment towards your lil buddy, Cody. But your initial post was trying to say that Maineiri made a mistake in some way, and you are trying to use JC numbers to back that up. That's where you fail miserably.

Cody is a good player but the reason he got cut is there are too many at LSU. He would have still had do do extremly well to break the lineup. Good to know he is doing well JUCO pitching isn't as good as the SEC but some JUCOs have pitching that is legit. I have seen some teams have 7-8 guys touching 90. But only a few big time programs.(Grayson,San Jac, Okaloosa Watlon, or Chipola)

dude, you just came off really cocky at the beginning, saying he'll be playing in Omaha next year, with what team? Is he such a 1-man wrecking crew that he'll lead a team to Omaha?

by sayin we'll see how good he is im jus sayin that when he makes it to a good level of picthin and is still puttin up solid numbers then he'll look a little better. hes talked with all schools in the sec but is probably going to go to louisville. lot of time to make that decision though

Where is he playing? I would like to check his stats? There is a kid from Eunice hitting .503. Looking at last falls practices, i would have never thought hanover would be where he is today. There is opportunity and luck and timing and personality and grades and commitment and who knows what else that goes into the picture with the coaching staff's decision to keep a player. If you are going to play at LSU one better have a little of all the above plus ability that is draftable. PM prides hisself on how many players he puts in the pro's. It is stat that measures as much as wins and losses when it comes to recruitment and job serch,
