And I'd also say that if next year has a similar result it may be time to reevaluate the situation.

if we get another top 8 seed next season CPM isn't going anywhere he may even get an extension.

They only went once since then and went 0-2 so no need to be dramatic about the numbers

Does this somehow help your case? "No see, its ok that its been five years since he's won a game in Omaha because he never makes it there anymore.."

Yeah, thats a great argument for keeping him.

This is just my opinion, but we haven't come close to the talent that '09 roster had in the last 5 years.

CPM makes it about 40% of the time to Omaha. that isn't that bad.

he is 6-5 in Omaha in his coaching Career.

Dramatic?
How is stating the facts being dramatic?
In those 5 season LSU has been very good during the regular season and fantastic in the SEC tournament, but.... has been average to bad in the NCAA tournament.
Again have not won a game in Omaha since 2009? How many years can we go to where that's not accepted?

It is difficult to make it to omaha and win in Omaha. if CPM fell short of omaha 5 straight years maybe he would be let go, but if he keeps on getting top 8 seeds and has success in the SEC etc. he won't go anywhere.

1 game. That blows my argument out of the water.

we were rolling with a 4-0 lead and a pitcher with an incredibly low pitch count going strong.

We got the 4-0 lead after Bouman left. This isn't the mystery, not pulling McCune is

I don't want him out. I just want answers. And I think it's time we get a very good hitting coach.

Right. As always, there are some incredibly stupid responses in this thread.

Everyone should take a step back and look where this team was at about 3-4 weeks ago and looking to possibly get paired up with ULL in their regional, then we had the possibility to host, then we won the SEC Championship, then we became a National Seed.

The bottom line is that this team probably overachieved based on what we saw for the first few months of the season. They weren't a great offensive team. Their were pretty big question marks on the hill outside of Nola and Poche. Everyone clicked at the right time starting in that game against Northwestern and they rode that for a couple of weeks while everyone was hitting. To the person that said "this was absolutely our year", you must not have been watching or paying attention to this team all year long.

It sucks that we lost when we only had to win 1 game and we had a 4 run lead in the 8th inning, but in reality, this team probably achieved more than it should have, an SEC Tournament Championship and another National Seed. Everyone wants to bitch though because we didn't win the National Championship.

Thanks for pointing out the silver lining. I feel so much better now. It's like the bitch slapping in front of the entire Nation has all gone away.

As long as the box is selling tickets and ESPN is sending a check CPM isn't going anywhere soon. Suckers.

It isn't a silver lining. This team overachieved plain and simple. I will be willing to bet you didn't go to a single baseball game all year or even watch a single game until the post season.

I couldn't care less how you feel.

LSU fans are stupid and entitled. The mouth breathing retard fans like you feel like it is a "bitch slapping" every single time we lose a game in any sport.

In reality we just got shut down offensively by the pitching staff with one of the best ERAs in the country.

We overachieved by hosting a regional, not even making it out and y'all are ok with that?

Your question doesn't even make any sense.

The team overachieved in 2014. Ask anyone that knows anything about the team if they thought they would achieve this much in April. Am I happy we lost? Frick no. But in reality, the team still overachieved.

How about just making it out of our own regional?

how about winning a game at Omaha?

People like you have to make it about national titles because that allows you to dismiss the perfectly legitimate question and criticisms. I don't expect a title ever year or even every 10 years.

8 teams get to Omaha ever year - its only been us once in the last four years.

College Baseball has changed - Paul hasn't changed as well as other coaches. He either needs to figure it out or get out of the way. I'm not saying to fire him, but there needs to be some specific goals that need to be reached, and one of them is a win at Omaha(just a game, not even the national title). Its been five years - thats not the mark of an elite team.
