Being fired, then not being fired, then promising changes, then not making changes counts as s shite show imho. Maybe you were entertained, but I thought it was embarrassing. Les Miles had a great run, but it was time. FWIW, I have had season tickets since 91. The CH years were rough. As for 50 or so coaches going 6-2 or 7-1 down the stretch last season...I say no fricking way. Arkansas was a problem for us under Les, but let's ignore that. Hell A & M may have been a problem for us as well given that our defense actually struggled a bit in that game and we needed the offense. Los Tigre's reply...something something gay. No substance. It's about what I would expect from someone who was called for their bullshite. When the president of the Les Miles fan club is your cheerleader, your position is weak. I've said it before, if Coach O doesn't cut it...bye. For now though, I don't see how someone can shite on what he has done so far at LSU and actually have any credibility.

Why are you so consumed with getting fans to see things your way one game into the season?

Just to be clear what I want people to see my way: I am not asking people to (as LosTigres described it) break out the knee pads for O. I do want people who profess to be LSU fans to do is to stop the constant belittling of O and quit looking for reasons why he shouldn't be given any credit for the program's success. My initial post in this thread was in response to a poster pissing on every accomplishment listed in the op as either unimpressive or O get "zero credit." See other threads like the one called "Big difference between O and Miles" where a guy is lambasting him as a fraud. Seriously, WTF with some fans?

I don't know if O was the right hire or not. I wasn't a huge fan of the hire last November. But now that it is done, he's the coach and I'm supporting him. I'm not looking for reasons to validate my initial skepticism. I'm looking for reasons why my initial skepticism was wrong. He's doing a good job so far in my book. Even if you are incapable of agreeing with that, he is not doing a bad job.

not when they had horrible run defenses.

2016-17 ranking of opponents rushing yards per game was the worst ranking since before miles was hired at lsu.

last year they gave up 210 yards rushing per game.

their worst year during Miles tenure was 170 yards rushing per game.

but I also agree he lost to some arky teams that werent nearly as talented as lsu.

Not true this years class was ranked higher than 2013 and if you're complaining about the 5th to 7th ranked class at a school that hasn't finished close to that at seasons end lately you're an idiot. Not to mention those stellar classes Miles brought in the past few years were a bunch of numbskulled jerkoffs who didn't go to class or do much of anything right so we'd end up losing a third of most classes. Sure on signing day those classes were nice but by game time they dropped to the 20s in class ranking with what was left over. Oh and let's not forget we had to sign extra walkons just to barely avoid academic sanctions by the NCAA under Miles. Just look at what's happened since he left we've had an unprecedented amount of guys thrown off leaving and suspended because these guys were used to running the show and don't think for one second the NCAA came down here just to check on women's fricking tennis. O haters are the most ignorant head in the sand Miles bootlicking retards on the rant.

Wait are you suggesting that every recruiting success in the previous 3 classes are O's because he was the Recruiting Coordinator and all the misses are Miles?

O has zero responsibility for any miss of any recruit while he was at LSU as the RC?

All classes have hits and misses.

I'm not blaming O or Miles individually for the misses or crediting one or the other for the hits.
They both get both.

Only an ignorant head in the sand O bootlicker would suggest that the RC holds zero responsibility for recruiting, talent and character.

4) The stellar recruiting class. Grade = A.

The class was ranked high, but we lost several players from Louisiana to Alabama and other schools, including a couple of LBs that we desperately needed. O gets a partial pass for that since he wasn't named the permanent head coach until late in the recruiting game, but you can't lose the best players in your own state, your own city, even your own campus, at a position of extreme need and get an "A" for recruiting.

I would argue that while this did happen, we made up for it in a big way by getting Taylor over Auburn and UGA and also flipping Phillips from OU.

Things didn't go as planned, but being able to ride the waves of recruiting and fill needs when plan A didn't come to fruition says a lot about our ability to make shite happen.

Les put all his eggs in one basket with Fournette in 2014 (didn't recruit/sign a running back in 2013) and it worked out, but could you imagine if he signed elsewhere? 2015 wouldn't have been pretty.

For the 2nd time ROPO. This is all Im saying... Dont try to twist my comments that Im not supportive of the new coaches. We've agreed on this twice now.

I support LSU football, all of it, including the new head coach.
When Coach O does something great, like have a top 5 recruiting class or beats Alabama and/or loses 2 games or less in a season, I will be as happy as anyone. Until, then Im tired of hearing about how great he is. Its that freaking simple!

Its called, been down this road many times. Lets hold the prick sucking until he faces some adversity as the official HC and does what very very few other coaches in this league have accomplished. That they can handle a SEC HC position and at least equal what the program is accustomed to and not embarrass or quit on them.

Hes 2-0 and the team looks great. Im not going to knit pick the FG kicking, the penalties or even say this is Miles' players. (He had no control on what team he inherited) The team seems focused and playing hard and executing a high level. Thats whats he can control at this moment.
If the 2 problem issues arent improved after 4-5 games, then it will be fair for some to question that. But, its way too early for that now. Its a young team, new OC and no special teams coach. Give the man some time.

The Ole Miss and A&M faithful began knee-padding on their coaches way too soon and those 2 actually did accomplish a few things without taking over a stacked program. Now look at them, especially Ole Miss. Petrino at Arkansas comes to mind as well. The list goes on and on. Its a difficult task to win at a high level, stay away from sanctions, enhance the brand, continue the top 5 recruiting classes and the NFL pipeline.

Lets, ALL OF US, hope hes the guy that can keep us in the hunt for a Nat'l title for many years late into the season.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leg, you continue to be ignorant about the discussion. Im not calling your wife or your kids ignorant, just you.
If I question what the new coach has really accomplished, that doesnt mean I dont support the program or wish the previous coach was still here. What does Arky and A&M have to do with "the proof is in the pudding with Coach O?"

Im not questoning your support for the program and could care less how long youve had season tickets. What does any of this have to do with the discussion?

If my, lets wait and see before we begin calling someone great, (that inherited a program that was winning 9-10 games a year, that just put 6-7 players in the NFL, 3 of which were first rounders and several others on practice squads AND has a Heisman hopeful on offense and arguably the best player in the country on defense returning along with a competent QB).......................

pisses you off to the point of name calling then thats on you. Please stop the ignorant babbling in here, Sir.

My point for the final time, was do we really need another post in here daily about how good a job he's doing. When in reality, its way to early to tell, just like you and ROBO have stated 2 times in this post already.
Its as simple as that!
