Clemson O did lots of things that I hope LSU OC took note of...

While night and day O philosophies, I say the following:
Harris skills are not dissimilar to Clemson stud ATH dual threat QB. Sure wished LSU ran more read and run option with Harris and encouraged tuck and running with the ball -- it is his DNA.
Read option slowed down Bama from selling out on run like it did w/LF LSU O. Potential run or pass kept them on their heals.
Once on their heals, the edges were ripe for attack, and Clemson saw a lot of success in doing so.
Misdirection away from play side DEs and OLBs put temporary concrete shoes on them...and allowed Clemson to get ball quickly play side via pass to playmakers between numbers and sideline -- created a lot of space for play makers
(vs. LF left, LF right...minus the very few middle screens (2 or less as I recall) that were thrown to him that ugly Nov night).
LSU needs some new school and use QB DNA. A little would go a LONG way, IMO.
Nothing original here. Thank you for this therapy moment.

You know the difference between the 2 Qb's?
Clemson QB had to throw.. and had to be on the money everytime to have a chance.

No doubt...he threaded the needle, too, when he threw it. Definitely a difference. But I do believe clipping Harris' wings by not letting him run like the dual threat that is in his DNA hurts both his run and passing rhythm. That said, hard to compare what I saw on my TV from Clemson.

Deshaun Watson is a Heisman-caliber quarterback. Brandon Harris is not.
Leonard Fournette is a Heisman-caliber running back. Wayne Gallman is not.
Alabama was beating Clemson by 12 before a cheap touchdown with :12 left allowed Clemson to cover the spread. Alabama beat LSU by 14. While Watson clearly played a heck of a game and Bama is more susceptible to a DTQB on defense, the way to beat Alabama isn't dependent on an offensive style.
It's about committing fewer penalties, fewer turnovers, executing your assignments, and apparently, covering the tight end. If you do those things better than they do, chances are you'll win the game, regardless of the offense you're running.

the only thing I saw worthy of note was their passing game was much better than ours.
to hang with bama, you need a damn good passing attack.

Clemson put up 550 yards and 33 points (prior to the final drive).
LSU put up 183 yards and 16 points.
LSU will never consistently drive the ball on Alabama in the manner in which Clemson did last night unless the overall design of the offensive is overhauled.

I'm sorry, but I do not want my quarterback running into the teeth of Alabama's front seven 20 times in a game.. That's a good way to get killed in this conference.
Fact of the matter is that Alabama is good enough on defense to win the tough, gritty games, and they're good enough on offense to win the shootouts; the only way to beat them is to be better than they are in all three facets of the game. Again, that's true regardless of what type of offense you're running.

What you guys still fail to realize is that a mobile qb is a crippler for Bama.(and I'm no talking somebody who can move around in the pocket, I'm talking about a guy with the ability to tuck and go) They couldn't play combo coverage bc they had to respect the running ability of the qb and the slants were wide open all night. They also took advantage of a weak secondary with good route concepts such as rubs. A simple pocket passer would have to be insanely accurate and willing to take multiple licks and deal with combo coverage which works well bc you can maul a WR in college before the ball is thrown.

He did not take one good lick the whole night scrambling all the hits came in the pocket.

I disagree, I don't think Harris is even close to Watson. I don't get why people think Harris is some amazing runner. Has he had success at times? Yes, but no more than Jordan Jefferson. He is not the same caliber as Watson.

AND.....they still lost!

Wow, that is dumb. Did you not see that that throw?

Don't hold your breath, we won't see anything like that

Everyone knows each year the LSU OC doesn't watch film, so I don't think they took any notes.

Sure wished LSU ran more read and run option with Harris

Harris can scoot but holy god he needs to just slide or step out whenever a DB gets within 5 yards of him. it looks like he tries to set himself up to get decapitated

Hope in one hand, shite in the other...
