I get prestige maybe, but don't all teams split the money evenly?

Cotton, Peach, Capital One...whatever. It is all the same to me. We tend to get better match-ups in the Chik-Fil-A like 2005 Miami.

It is a matter of principle. LSU should not be passed for A&M, SC, or Georgia.

i don't really care about the bowl if we're not in a BCS bowl, but i'll put it this way

the peach isn't the worst bowl out there

the peach is basically the worst bowl that LSU could possibly have gone to this year

this bowl matches up teams that are better than every BCS bowl other than than the NCG.

Or, to put it another way, the BCS has really effed itself. Tiger fans may be pissed, but what about:

Rose Bowl .. Wisconsin unranked.

ORANGE BOWL .. NIU (I think that's Northern Indiana or Illinois or Indianapolis University).

Rose Bowl and OB got screwed worse than LSU.

As a fan isn't it about a quality match-up

I sure hope the team is fired up to play against Clemson.... because losing to them would be terrible.

Sounds like you're contradicting yourself a bit there. Because if losing to them would be so terrible, it's probably not so great of a matchup.

We just have to endure the initial meltdowns. The storm before the calm, if you will.
I admit I was disappointed when first hearing this, but you're right...I'm feeling a little better about it now. I would've liked to see the Tigers play the Sooners, but Clemson is a better opponent than those BCS powerhouses Louisville and NIU.

irrelevant. they're big10 champs. they're going to the rose regardless of BCS or no BCS

coaches being progressive and pushing them up high enough did that. it's ridiculous

Seriously tempted to take that.

You're looking at Louisville and N Illinois. Why would one assume that will get higher ratings?

bigger game = bigger ratings

i don't know how often a non-BCS bowl out-drew a BCS bowl, but if it's happened, it's real rare

Herbstreit was livid about this during the BCS selections. Pretty funny.

.... correction.... the MELTDOWN associated with losing to them would be terrible.

I think it's a good matchup and will be a fun game for fans to watch.

they have the higher octane "O" and LSU has the SEC stingy "D" ... something has to give?

That alone creates some excitment in my mind.

I like it, myself.
