Before leaving LSU in December 2014, Chavis told people that LSU’s treatment of Miles — and the “Les Miles clause” — was a sign the school planned to fire the coach in the same unceremonious fashion Tennessee fired Fulmer in 2008. The "Les Miles clause" ties assistants to Miles. If he is fired or resigns, LSU staff members’ contracts won’t be fully honored. A similar clause appeared in the contracts of Tennessee assistants — including Chavis, then UT’s defensive coordinator.

Alleva shouldn't be in a leadership position. He's a complete mess.

So? Fulmer ran the program into the ground and Miles seems to be trending that way, a good way to stop that trend is to win the West this year.

Biggest take I got
quote:

In depositions, Alleva and Ewing said Chavis did not sign the altered contract, the one approved by the school's board of supervisors. Ewing and Nall said Chavis never received a copy of the changed contract.

Chief projecting his anger about Aleva and ripping Miles, his hidden agenda: He neither respects Fullmer nor Miles.........and they are comparable.

ALEVA is a mess..........and he elicited the Chief AND Miles disasters..........why he remains untouched by this, and he may reap the consequences soon, is beyond me.

Make no mistake about Chief, he is not to be trusted................he intended to damage our recruiting and HE IS NO FRIEND OF HAT'S........

As a previous poster aptly put it: HAT NEEDS TO GET BACK IN THE RACE OR FACE HIS CONSEQUENCES. We have a great DC who has that "professionalism and organizational acumen," so....................

So, Alleva plannned to fire a guy who at the time had a LOSING record in the West the last two years despite having the most expensive coaching staff, and he's the bad guy?

Miles needs to give a raise to his PR firm for appealing to the large swath of the fan base who can't think past the end if their noses.

Fulmer had a losing record in 2005 that put him on many hot seat watches entering 2006. He was fortunate that bringing back Cutcliffe gave him 2 more years, because he had no chance of surviving much longer without him. 2008 proved that.

Fulmer did win the East the year before he was fired.

If Miles had his way we'd still be getting our asses kicked in the fourth quarter because we kept finishing second in recruiting because of Chavis and Haley. We'd also likely have Cameron on a contract through 2020.

There's a ton of things to criticize Alleva for because he's screwed up a lot, but Alleva lighting a fire under Miles arse is the only reason we have the coaching staff that we do. Miles would have never gotten rid of Chavis and Haley despite years of underperforming.

Alleva is a certified A$$ HAT. He should be fired. The fans have ZERO faith or respect for his administrative abilities. When are WE going to voice this loud enough to get him the hell out of here!!!
ALLEVA HAS TO GO.

If the boosters/AD employee would have kept their mouths shut, Jimbo would be the LSU coach right now and Alleva is looked at like a hero. People saying JA leaking the info makes no sense.

Alleva left Miles/other coaches swirling in the wind, but I guess in hindsight our mouth breathing fanbase would have preferred him to give Miles the "vote of confidence", and then canned his arse. But instead, he said he was going to reevaluate his performance at the end of the year.

Everyone kills JA on this board, but he was in a Catch 22 situation, and he had a spineless president that obviously didn't have his back.

The President of the University had to know the plans to get rid of Miles and could have nixed the deal as soon as it was started. There's no way JA orchestrated that whole thing by himself without support from higher up the admin ranks.

F. King Alexander hung JA out to dry and it looked apparent that's exactly what happened in Miles presser after the aTm game.
