It's Hanagriff's job to have an opinion. IYAM, he can be kinda lazy sometimes, and it shows.

Hit the nail! Definitely lazy when it came to LSU basketball.

Will miss JOB but LSU now has more quality big guys who are needed for rebounds and defense, that means more shots for our shooting guards and less shots for our opps. Excited about this LSU basketball team.

On one of his recent shows, Hanagriif had no opinion of LSU basketball, professed to be totally clueless as to how LSU would perform this year, whether they would make the NCAA tournament or continue down the same road.

That's what happens when you haven't been good since 2009. This is the year.

Hopefully.

Definitely NEXT season.

I think.

but until he stops getting out coached in game and starts making in game adjustments

This is hilarious. I'm glad the rant has found a talking point on basketball now.

You want an in-game adjustment. This was the ballsiest thing I've ever seen a basketball coach do.

quote:

Afterward the Tiger players joked that Jones pulled the strategy out of his pocket.

LSU point guard Anthony Hickey was a key in a second-half full-court press that turned the game around and helped the Tigers rally from 16 points down to beat Seton Hall 72-67.

"We didn't practice that, but we did great on that," point guard Anthony Hickey said. "We had a big defender on the front end, and he was able to get his hands on the ball."

It worked.

LINK

The man literally installed a 1-2-1-1 pressure package in the middle of a game to erase a 16 point lead. He has some growth to make as a head man, no doubt, but this idea that he doesn't adjust is asinine.

Our real issue is we weren't very talented at the guard spot last year. Running out two sub 6 footers at guard is a tough way to win games. Those guys have skills, but we couldn't defend a lick. Notice that when Tim Quarterman went nuts (think Missouri game), LSU was scary good. Hopefully we can have more consistent guard play from our bigger players. Could be a big season.

And what point would that be? Let's not have an opinion on LSU basketball until they do something? That's being fricking ignorant, you truly can't be an LSU fan.

You just don't know what you're going to get from this team, even when we have talent. It reminds me of the Pelicans in a way and for some reason I still get my hopes up about both teams every season.

Charles isn't ignorant about the team. He just means he thought they would have taken the step forward last year but didn't. So while he thinks they should this year who really knows.

LSU got out rebounded last year too many times too. With the extra bigs, LSU can press more and defend better, they can take more risks and take more shots. Yes, LSU could be scary good.

You guys would be ripping him if he just started talking out of his arse.

What's wrong with just admitting he doesn't know? I'm sure there are other personalities who will cover BB in depth.

So your suggesting Charles isn't an LSU basketball fan? Make sure to call in and tell Charles you share something in common with him regarding LSU. Anxious to hear his response.

Just as others have posted, I'm only suggesting he was lazy in covering the LSU basketball program.

i understand the feelings or lack thereof towards hoops especially after last year's letdown, but when you are one of the faces of BR radio thats kind of a dumb thing to say

So what you're saying is that if you don't know how a team will perform, then you aren't a fan? You knew what the football team was going to look like this year? I don't think you understand what he means by 'opinion'.

Charles is one of main voices in media for LSU fans in BR, absolutely that's a dumb thing to say.

LSU bball is getting better. And I will never understand how other so-called football schools in the south have trouble getting basketball players to come.
