Chances special teams blows it for us

I have this unsettling feeling that our SP Team unit will end us costing us a game this year. There has been too many mistakes since BDP took over. We cannot seem to cover ANYONE on punts or kicks. Our punter shanks more than not. If our kickers aren't kicking the ball out of bounds then it is landing at the 10 yard line. Not to mention the utter disappearance of one of the most accurate kickers in LSU history, at least at such an early point in his career. I know he isn't the one out there doing all of these things but at the end of the day it is his unit. Is there any reason to think things will get better or that these kind of mistakes will not cost us our season?????

Honestly, 90%
The horrible special teams play hasn't improved from day 1 so I have little reason to believe it will improve until it ultimately costs us a close game.

It has hurt us every game. Even when they are not giving up TDs they are giving up large chunks of field position. All phases of special teams other than FGs (SO FAR) have been really bad.

Bad special teams and a passing defense that gives up big plays is all equaled out by the man called LF7. Of course our special teams will get a little better because they will emphasize it more and more each week at practice. Will it cost us a game? Who knows? As long is LF7 is healthy, we will be in every game we play. Relax and enjoy watching the best running back in the country make history.

Crucial to fix this. Gonna cost us a game or two if we don't.

If Les doesn't take some measures to shore up the problems, 90%. We have too good of a team for this to be the reason for a loss.
If he needs to emphasize one thing, it is TOUCHBACK.

Make that 98% with Hardgraves back there. Special teams will cost us a game this year.

surely 1 of the kickers can put it in the back of the endzone, right?
that is all we need, then we wouldn't even have to worry about this

We've been bad on special teams as well. Our punter is the lone bright spot.

Is there some reason Gamble is not kicking off? Last year he put several in the endzone when he was in.

He's kicked off once or twice, but I'm sure that delay of game penalty will have him on the bench for a while.
The short kickoffs have to be by design. Gamble and Domingue have both easily put it in the endzone before, yet every single kick now is short. The only time we've had a touchback that I can remember is against EMU when the wind caused us to have a holder. Domingue put it 6 yards deep in the end zone, and typically the holder causes the kick to go a little SHORTER. Obviously being down a cover guy we just decided to take the return out. Why they didn't do that on Saturday I have no idea.

Coaching issue, no lane integrity

Chances special teams blows is 100%. I dunno if they're gonna blow IT, but only time will tell...

he has kicked 2 this year, right?
and 1 he got a delay of game and the other he kicked out of bounds...

Used to have some of the best players on special teams, appears not to be the case anymore. Add to this coaching issues, it's a time bomb waiting to go boom.

You must be recalling the Bama game from last year.
That is just waiting to happen again.
