This is why I say over and over there needs to be something on the D side like say Charles Woodson Trophy

Mathieu has a snowball's chance in hell of winning the award that has been, with only one exception, an offensive MVP award.

I had a vote it would go to Robert Griffin III with Matheu second on my ballot.

His season performance is definitely better than Woodson's when he won.
Only difference being, charles woodson also played offense...

Alabama has survived by D play just like us. So do not give me this **** that they wouldn't be undefeated without him.
Alabama is defeated. LSU already beat them.
Mathieu was, without question, had the most outstanding play on the field in college football this year. However, if I were a Heisman voter, which I'm pretty sure I'm not, I would not vote for him. Character would matter in my voting because I believe college football is at its heart a sport about character. The most outstanding player in a sport that is, IMO, for the purpose of building and showcasing character, should not have the large character issues Matthieu has. The trash talking on the field and the fake marijuana positive test off the field weigh too heavily, IMO, to consider him better than a guy like the Baylor QB who has had nearly as good a year on the field, but has been a positive leader off the field. He has given me no reason to question his character. He would get my #1.
