Two of the four starting QBs for the playoff teams were guys who couldn't cut it at their original school. I don't know much about Etling but I wouldn't write the guy off. I hope he gets his share of reps with the first team in the spring game to get a good look at what he brings to the table.

There would be anarchy, of purge and Y2K proportions. I have a bunker built for this exact scenario.

Someone made a case for Etling starting a full year playing more than Harris.

If you're referring to my post, let me clarify. I merely said Etling has more experience coming into this year than Harris did going into last. Regardless of competition, that is a fact. And by a good bit. He also is a couple years older now than Harris was last year. Again, a fact.

I am not advocating for Etling at all- I have literally never seen him throw a single pass and if he were sitting next to me right now, I wouldn't know it. But it would be good for everybody if he pushed Harris to strive to be better. And let's be honest, it's not like he was Jamarcus of '06 last year. Or '05.

Why does anyone like Etling?

Because he chose to wear P&G, jackass.

What happens if Etling outshines Harris in the Spring Game and shows command of the offense? It's not outside of the realm of possibility. You discount him because he was at a dumpster fire of a school with no other talent around him. Contrary to your beliefs, players do improve and grow. Sometimes, it takes a change of scenery for it to happen. Let the man have his chance.

Seems like Miles does not place as much emphasis on spring game performances as many other coaches do.

I am not sure if the same is true for other LSU coaches.

The melt-down would be epic...lol...of course, if he somehow was able to lead the Tigers to a NC, the also-rans would be chimming in to say what a great thing it is...lol...twerps....my vote is to let the coaches earn their considerable salaries and choose the QB with the best chance of winning it all!!!

It takes this coaching staff 3 years to get an offense to break the huddle without getting a false start and OP wants to know if a new transfer is going to push for playing time.

Oh. My. Lulz.

Perhaps when they get a QB that can learn the offense, things might go a might smoother...just maybe...
