Chances he actually starts over Harris, I'll give it 12%. Chances that at least one person on the rant is calling for him to play over Harris after Harris' first bad throw in a game this season? 100%.

Idk why people think our 2016 QB situation is already locked up... Maybe I was watching a different set of games last season because I didn't see a LSU qb performance all season to feel confident about going forward into 2016. For god sake I just want the best QB on the field who has a respectable arm and can make throws within 10-15 yards when needed.

This x 1000

Harris has shown nothing to give me confidence that he has cemented his position as starter. I believe the best man will play

Depends on the passing game.. Granted, the touch that Harris has shown is nonexistent. I can't remember LSU running a ton of screens, digs, and shallow routes. Everything seems to be vertical or bust with Cam.

I'd like to see Etling challenge him though, hopefully we will see the improvement in his second year as a starter.

Harris has to pull a Anthony Jennings for this to happen.

Someone made a case for Etling starting a full year playing more than Harris. Look who he played against and the end result. He lost his job for a reason.

I honestly think the best guy starts rather than previous year where seniority tipped the scales

One of the funniest pieces of idiocy I've read on here in weeks.

Did seniority rule in 2015 when the sophomore started over the junior?
Did seniority rule in 2013 or 2014 after the rising upperclassman transferred because he was beaten out by the true freshman in 2013?
Did seniority rule when the true freshman JJ beat out the second year JL?

In more than half the years CLM has been here seniority sat the bench at QB. Where the heck do you get this nonsense?

You Etling fans are so confusing.

He was terrrrrible at Purdue. He was so terrible that he was benched for a less experienced terrible QB, who wasn't quite as terrible but still terrible.

Harris is not losing this job. It's his team. Etling/McMillan is the battle, not anyone and Harris.

Why does anyone like Etling? Seriously, give me reasons...

What would be greaaaaaaaaaat is if Miles starts letting the backup get more meaningful snaps earlier in blowouts. I want Etling ready to be able to step in and contribute to victories if Harris gets knicked. That being said, this is a make or break year for Brandon. I think he's going to do great, so hopefully Etling will have to wait his turn.

Because he is the backup and he is new. Expectations can run wild because there is no game film of him in LSU's offense. This literally happens every year that our QB play is not stable, which has been like every year except Mett's last and then all the way back to Flynn/Russell days. It's becoming a new LSU tradition.

And I'm not saying he can't be effective in our offense, but there is literally no proof.

There is proof he was atrocious at Purdue, so bad he was benched for another atrocious QB. Against bad competition.

Why would they make him a better backup candidate than McMillan who has been in this system longer? No film vs. Unvelevably bad film.

And Harris is our clear starter. It would be nice to give him that confidence going into Spring. His team.

Show the Rant one more McMillan throw in this year's spring game like that one over the middle he made last year and they'll be creaming their Dickie's about how McMillan is the next coming.

It won't stop until we get some consistently competent QB play. The power of hope is too strong.

I'm sure nobody in here has really broken down film on Etling. Outside of googling his stats and a few YouTube clips most of us don't know anything. Just because a guy didn't have success at one school doesn't mean he can't get better.

I did when everyone was saying how good he was.

High school and college highlights. The guy is not very good

Maybe when I have a chance later I'll compile some links to his highlights for everyone. Until then, just google.

I wasn't saying he should start at all, my point was hopefully he can push BH over camp. It's pretty understood that we are going to live/die with Harris this season.

You only have to go back to last year when a younger, less experienced player unseated the experienced incumbent. And Etling played more at Purdue than Harris did in '14.

After the starter went rogue and formed a posse to get his stuff back and ended up in legal trouble?

My point is, CLM is showing some adaptability or at least more at one time than I've ever seen before. I think Etling stands as good a chance as anyone at this point in time
