Championship Square Not showing the game!!

Just got off the phone with the super dome ticket office and they said they will not be showing LSU-BAMA game in championship square, it will be open to the public but the TV's will be turned off for the game!! This sucks I was planning on watching it there!!

They need to show it in the Arena but I think they have other things going on in there before the game

it's probably some type of NCAA/BCS Rule where they can't show it outside the stadium. Just guessing.

I think Fan Fest is in Champions Square too before the game. That might have something to do with it as well.

WRONG..."fan fest" will not be in Champions Square ! It's always at the riverfront...Decatur St/Hard Rock Cafe'.I don't know how they plan on limiting access to the areas adjacent to the dome { in '07 fencing was erected around the dome and only those w/ tickets could enter}...but I'm sure officials will limit the crowd numbers.
Can't have 100,000 + ticket seekers clog up all the entrances to the dome/Champions Square...hell it's super crowded for most Saints games already !

Right. It likely has nothing to do w/ ESPN, but more a logistics issue. You can't have 1000's of people camped out with chairs waiting for the game. It would be a nightmare for people trying to get in.

Mattgobear-douche....Having it before a "regular" Sugar Bowl game is NOT equivalent to having it there before the BCS national championship game with tens of thousands of fans w/o tickets milling about in front of the MAIN superdome entrance ! Fan Fest is set up at Decatur St./Hard Rock on the 7th and 8th...there is NO Fan Fest in Champions Square the day of the game OR, would you care to make a wager on that Mr. fatmouth ?

It has something to do with broadcasting rights since the game is in the dome. Just like they don't show a Saints game in Champions Square when the game is being played in the dome. Has nothing to do with crowds.

Ok..and you know what about crowd control at an event like the BCS nat. champ. game ? just think about it...it simply would be impossible to allow tens of thousands of non-ticket holding fans to mill about in front of the main dome entrance...waiting for the game to be televised ! Talk about TOTAL gridlock...it's often difficult to get thru the crowd before a Saints prime time game ! You are correct about the non-televising rules though.
