Yep. And it's a true test for the offensive coaching staff this year (thank god Crowton is gone) ... Lee has all the physical tools to be an SEC caliber QB. Lee just hasn't been well coached. Can Kragthorpe turn it around in 1 offseason?

Maybe Oregon will think he is one of theirs and leave him alone.

You don't remember much. I guess Flynn didn't run all that much.

Didn't Lee have a decent run during the spring game? I'm not trying to be a smart arse. I just vaguely remember the game and thought he had a decent run. The main thing that I worry about with Lee is his inability to see where the DB's are on the field.

this part is just plain awful - lee's arm strength?

yeah I really wanna know how Lee's arm strength has gradually become subpar. I think the fact that he has a strong arm is what's gotten him into trouble at times. he relies on it to make throws he shouldn't.

Wrong. Did ever see them play. Mauck was a better QB after he jacked his ankle up. He was more likely to stay n the pocket vs. take off running. Flynn helped beat Miami by taking off running for first downs.

Did he ever have 700+ rushing yds in a season?

That and the fact that he doesn't set his feet on alot of throws. Maybe Krags can get him out of that habit.

They were both great runners.
I think Lee has a lot more to prove than either one of them did coming into their final seasons at LSU.

thats all wrong. jj can run the ball and create plays and give the defense something else to worry about. jl is a sitting duck.

Yeah, we all know it is impossible to have a successful offense without a mobile quarterback

All three are interchangeable.

disagree...Mett hasn't played a single down in the SEC...how can someone conclude that?
...based on inexperience AND looking at all three from an overall perspective AT THIS TIME, there are tradeoffs with each that make them about equal. Again, I say AT THIS TIME with what we currently know. JJ = more maneuverable, terrible passer, avg/below avg QB intelligence. JL = good passer, strong arm (disagree with the author on this), avg QB intelligence, can't scramble for shite. Mett = (all based on spring game) lack of game experience, very strong arm, avg scrambler, intelligence yet to be determined. Overall, this makes them interchangeable. JMO.

But Zach Mettenberger is the most talented throwing the ball out of all three. The reason he doesn't start, this overrated cliche' term called, "experience."

It isn't overrated if you have no idea where to hand the ball off, make your first read or where a play is suppose to go.

It doesn't hurt to have a mobile QB though.

not that I remember. Mett did though, kina surprised me.

Lee's not as immobile as ppl make him out to be though. he won't break off runs, but he can slide around in the pocket.

Yeah, he's a sitting duck back there. Reminds me of that Tennessee quarterback who now plays for the Colts.

Most of the time a quarterback runs, it's not by design. And we aren't putting Lee in the wildcat formation.

Crack myself up. "We." As though I'm helping make that choice.

Yea...I'm sure he doesn't know a single play in the playbook. In the spring game he must of been out there with no clue what to do...Come on.

I wouldn't so readily downplay "experience". I can't think of a QB who led a team to a title in his first year with a program outside of Cam Newton last year. I know he was the exception. May be 1 or 2 others, but I'm sure it's very rare.
