Hey dumass... answer the GD question instead of defaulting to boring and trite insults. "What would you do... come back for another hard SEC-level season, busting your arse, risking injury or even worse looking like shite on a bad team, or take what you can get now?"

Here's another question for you to avoid answering like a doofus... "why do you so desperately want these players to come back?"

I'll tell you why.. it's because you think it will make LSU a better team next year, PERIOD (and you don't know that for a fact, do you?). Truth is, you don't give a shite about what's best for an individual player at all, or whether he is "ready" (whatever that means), so get off of that moral high horse BS...

The players know you do not give a shite about them as individuals. So why should they give a shite about you and your pathetic Walter Mitty fantasy and sacrifice their own dreams for yours?

why would hill, obj and landry come back and kill draft stock?

the knock on hill is character issues and even with 2 years of being clean i dont think those would go away. he might as well leave while he has good tread on his tires. I wish he would stay but i just dont see it as being likely.

obj and landry go from having a sr gun slinger to a soph that we dont know much about, that is a pretty big gamble as far as their draft stock.

after what bama did to our oline collins might be better off returning and making up for the poor effort.

freak leaving is laughable, not because it wont happen but because he is going to be pancaked weekly at practice until he is cut.

And how are those disgruntled guys who left last year doing? Maybe we should petition the NCAA to expand both sides of the line to 22 players so that we can get more of those talented kids on the field.

See I don't think this is the case at all. After what happened last year I think most know it will happen after this year with all of those players. I do think we are just hoping that maybe one year one or a couple will say, I love LSU and I am coming back. But in reality we know this is not happening.

Who are these disgruntled players that weren't used correctly and left earlier than they should have?

Ware and Ford weren't going to improve their draft stock, they're both unremarkable players at a position that's a dime a dozen.

Logan, Montgomery, and Simon were full season starters, don't see how they could have been used differently by the coaching staff. Maybe they could have benefited from another year, but Montgomery hurt his own stock, Simon has kids.

Wing, from all accounts, didn't like school and may not have even been eligible to play this season.

What does this really have to do with anything going forward? Les is floundering; I hope he can right the ship.

No coach finished at LSU, more than 2 seasons, with a better winning percentage than Miles. So every coach floundered the whole time? Except Dietzel in '58 and Saban in '03?

He was "floundering" after 2008 and 2009, don't you agree? Then he gets 13 wins in 2011 - that was his best season and it was 2 years ago.

Chavis' past performance (not reflected in 2013) suggests he will field a better product in 2014. Cameron (assuming he stays) will have had another full year in the system.

We will have a new quarterback and unproven receivers. We will have a freshman running back. However, the team, as a whole, will be more experienced in 2014 than 2013, particularly on defense.

Hill, Beckham, Landry, and Collins will all be drafted and should do what is best for them. Hill should pay LSU and Miles back by staying. At best if mhe didn't play this year he'd be a 4th or later round pick.

Taking off the P&G glasses, how many of them are truly ready for the NFL?
Offhand, I'd say Beckham and Landry. Not sure if Hill is, just yet. While we widely assume he's going just because he's our starter and the most talented guy, I still kinda wonder about his conditioning. Of course, you have to look at the Gurley/Lattimore situation and take that risk of getting hurt into account.

Hilliard- no. Wouldn't be drafted at all.
Collins- not ready.
Johnson- not ready.
Ego- maybe, but could use another year.
Magee-no, but better chance than Hilliard due to his speed.
Rasco- no.
Allen- no.

Jordan Allen is going nowhere lol.

Landry and Beckham are gone. They don't want to take the chance of not good QB play and a typical LSU rushing offense.

Collins is a hard one to figure out. He is projected 1st round next year and may stay to get a better contract and payout in the end. He may not seeing what happened to Faulk.

Hilliard would become another case of Michael Ford...he should stay. 3rd string RB....

Hill.....depends on what he is graded at. He may want to come back due to the passing offense going down and getting more carries perhaps. I think he is gone.

he is right on most of them being not ready, just doesn't mean they are going to come back.

Um, why did you change my list and then use it as a quote? Pretty dick move, IMO. I said not sure on Hill, not "no".

You really think Hilliard would be drafted? I thnk he'd be lucky to make it to a practice roster.

You really think Collins and Johnson are ready? These are supposedly elite talents, and they've had pretty uneven seasons/careers. Right now, I'd put both in maybe the 3rd rd at best, while a good senior year should make them 1st rd picks.

edited to add- I'm also a Saints fan, and I take "ready for the NFL" to mean- yeah, I'd like them on my Saints team.

Beckham and Landry, yes. They can come in and play. Hill- I'm not sure just yet. I'd love to know if he can play a whole season as the man, before I'd want to spend a draft pick on him. Collins- no. Don't draft an underperforming early entry. We need a tackle you can rely on, and he hasn't been that yet. Johnson and Ferguson are servicable guys for depth; nothing special.

Given that each has the oppurtunity to play another year in college and improve on what they've done, the WRs are the only guys who I'd take without hesitation, before the 4th round. Hill and Collins, ok for middle rds and hope for the best, if there's nobody better.
