Couldn't remember so I went back and looked. I see your point about the redshirt, but it's a huge stretch to call his involvement "getting into games"

FYI here's what those stats tell me.
2010 - 45th scoring offense
2011 - 17th scoring offense
2012 - 58th scoring offense
The offenses job is to put points on the board whether they drive 9 yards or 99.
2010-28th rushing offense (yds/game)
2011-22nd rushing offense (yds/game)
2012-50th rushing offense (yds/game)
2010-12th total defense,22nd turnover margin
2011-2nd total defense, 2nd turnover margin
2012-8th total defense, 5th turnover margin
So here's what these stats tell me. Our defense gave us all the advantages in the world in terms of turnovers, having short fields, yet we still managed to rank near the damn near bottom in every offense category except above average rushing yards per game, and decent yards per carry. Although, let's talk about these numbers amongst the others. The 3rd down conversion rates, 1st down offense, and its plainly obvious that yes while we may have solid production rushing the ball year in and year out, it hasn't resulted in overall offensive production. So are you trying to tell me that if every category sucks, but rushing yards per game is above average that your offense is somehow okay and dandy? I look at the entire body of work. I'm sorry if it seemed like I nitpicked stats, but I would say the side of shitty production seems to have more company than the one or two categories with solid production. In fact, I can't think of anything besides rushing yards per game that we ranked in the top half of college football regularly on offense in the entire Les Miles era. Everything else aside from that is bottom half year in and year out save for last season alone. 9/10 years of below average in everything but rushing yards per game.

Anyone that says being in contention is not realistic because of all the excuses we have needs to seriously ask the question why do we play the game.

We've been doing a lot of explaining lately.

to hand the ball off and throw 1 pass.
I don't really see the point you are trying to make.

don't expect being anywhere close to an SEC West championship much less an SEC title or national title with the current scheme and QB

Turnover margin is different than turnovers forced.
it involves both sides of the ball.

So here's what these stats tell me. LSU's core offensive identity is to play sound defense and run the ball, and they're damn good at both, even in years that aren't considered especially good. We run the ball when we want to and pass the ball EFFICIENTLY when we need to. FYI, we also consistently rank in the top in redone efficiency.
We won't ever be a four-wide spread it out team with Miles, but his way also works. FYI, Alabama employs a similar style and we all know how it's worked for them.

I think this is the biggest problem we have, the scheme doesn't fit the talent that was recruited to play the position. And I think Miles and Cameron are to stubborn to recognize and acknowledge this. Retting was the QB we needed to run Cameron's offense and he is gone. The run off, and by that I mean bury him on the depth chart, the one QB that is a perfect fit for their offensive scheme and the keep the QB's that have to change their style of play to fit their scheme.
Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, that is one of the frustrating parts about this mess we are in currently.

FYI, Cameron has recruited exactly one QB that is currently on our roster and its the one everyone is clamoring for.
ETA: we have the No. 1 dual threat for 2016 and the No.1 pro style for 2018 already committed.

I don't know how you can judge the scheme off of what we are running now.
people confuse a gameplay with a scheme, when a gameplay takes in account complete lack of ability at QB, and a scheme doesn't.
Out scheme is what we ran last year, maybe slightly different with a QB who can move.
Our Gameplan, is try to never have to throw the ball, and then pray we never have to throw the ball.

I know there's a problem when people start saying we have the number one pro-style QB committed for 2018. Holy shite!

to be fair we are working on the #1 Qb from 2016 too.

As an example, when they won the BCS in 2012, they had the #76 passing offense, #1 pass efficiency offense, and #16 rushing offense.

My concern is can Cam develop a scrambling QB
He developed Drew Brees.
Harris appears to have an extremely talented arm and looks to throw. Why wouldn't you want your QB to be mobile
quote:
Drew Brees is a pocket passer that looks for the pass first. He is elusive. He only scrambles when there is no other option. Pure pocket passer.
Yes, that is what he developed into.
So did you answer your own question?

Yep. and the 31st ranked total offense.
LINK
For comparison, when LSU had Zach Mettenberger, Odell Beckham Jr., Jeremy Hill, and Jarvis Landry they had the 35th best team in terms of total offense.
So thats better than the best LSU offense in the last 10 years.
So LSU's greatest offensive season in the last 10 years is still worse than a lot of teams on a year-to-year basis.

PEEJ. How is it possible to talk sense into one who was "inspired" by an offense that scored ZERO points against an average defensive team? Was LSUsped out there against Arky or what? That's what we're dealing with.
