Nola should not really be mentioned in the same breath as Bregman

What?
You're a fool.

Of course, Swat5(a rantard) is wiser than the HC at LSU.
Per Mainieri
quote:

Mainieri said it wouldn’t be fair to compare Bregman to Nola defensively, saying that on a scale of one to 10, Bregman is a 7.5 defensively, whereas Nola was “an 11-plus.”

Omitting the defensive component of a SS is silly(which apparently you're trying to do). It's one of the most critical defensive positions.

Obviously most believe Bregman to have a higher ceiling than Nola(as do I), but he's a freshman, and hasn't accomplished anything yet. Hype =/= on the field success.

I'm not sure what your problem with Nola is, but he was a pretty damn good LSU SS. After a year under his belt, it would be fair to reassess this, but there are no actuals to base this on...just hype. I hope at year end we can say Bregman lived up the the hype, he's the real deal.

Thank god...13 innings and 2 runs total. Something had to give.

i don't know if we had anyone left to pitch.

I kept waiting for dean to grab a bat and end it.

I think it is possible Alex Bregman is a better ALL-AROUND player right now than Austin Nola ever was.....And believe me Nola was a stud for the Tigers and a helluva player.....

What say you?

Even though he is very young in his career, I agree. His bat makes him better than LeMahieu and Nola

I think this will become more evident next year. He's a better hitter than Nola, but it's hard to say he's better in the field than Nola right now. I think he has more potential than Nola ever did though.

Nola - 5 errors in all of 2012 .299 batting average. (Freshman year .320 average and 10 errors.)
Bregman - 5 errors already 2 .422 batting average(so far)

I will say Bregman is one hell of a hitter and I think he could be very, very good at LSU but lets not get carried away that he is better than Nola just yet.
