I think it is possible Alex Bregman is a better ALL-AROUND player right now than Austin Nola ever was.....And believe me Nola was a stud for the Tigers and a helluva player.....

What say you?

He is a stud. Lets wait a year or two.

His hitting far and away makes up for however better Nola was with his glove. I'll take Bregman all day with his potential to continue to improve. Nola was ghastly at the plate.

not a big enough sample size on Bregman.

More polished hitter as a freshman than Nola was throughout his career. Doesn't have the glove Austin did though. Of course, not many do

I need to see Bregman more vs SEC pitching, but from I have seen, his bat as a freshman is better than I have ever seen out of Nola.

I liked Nola. I like Bregman. Both fine players.

Neither do I. He's at least as good as Nola was his freshman year, defensively.

Bregman much more advanced offensively than Nola but Nola had some pretty clutch hits in 2009 even though his average is low plus Nola did not have benefit of playing in the non conference schedule during 09 as well.

Defensively, Bregman is not at Nola's level but I've been pleasantly surprised with his defense considering SS was not his primary position in high school.

While I think Bregman has similar range to Nola, Bregman hasn't shown the arm strength to get it over to 1st in time to get someone out if hit to the third base side of him.

I like Bregman and I think he finishes his career better than Nola.

His numbers vs Nola's 09 numbers aren't bad.

Nola started 36 games and played in 50

Bregman has started and played in 20 so far.

Nola was a bit worse at the plate but a bit better in the field. IT's splitting hairs.

I find there is more uncertainty in the big plays with Bregman. Don't get me wrong he is a helluva shortstop. Nola seemed to be a little more graceful.
