Brando is not wrong about leadership at LSU.
Big problem is TAF and big donor interference.
Big problem is political interference.
Big problem is the University president is too powerful and too political.
Big problem is too many cooks in the football kitchen.
Big problem is a very weak AD and Athletic Department forced to tow the political line.
Big problem is sports media across the state in the tank with politicians and bureaucrats.
All were Les' big problems to deal with, coupled with the declining results of his coaching, created a too weak and unpopular position among the fan base that finally led to his coaching demise.

Agreed that the leadership at LSU is terrible.
I disagree that Coach O doesn't have a shot. I actually think he is fairly on the short list if Herman and Jimbo fall through.

Is it really necessary to do this for a national audience? What is to be gained? Does it make Timmy big man at the media donut shop? Does he not think anyone looking at a coaching job here does not have an idea of the landscape?
Nothing more than let me spout my BS loud as I can so everyone can say hey look Timmy said something and he's on TV. Hey! Rece (Witherspoon) Davis was ripping LSU yesterday, let me top that.
...I need a nap. dammmmiiiitttt dammmmiiiittt
All my respect for him gone in 3 min.

Everything Brando said is true. Why try to deny it?
I've read on this board a lot over the last day or two that we don't have to worry about JA because he won't be making the hire, TAF will.
OK. Then why the heck are we paying JA?
If no one has any confidence in him, get rid of him and take the 500K or whatever he's getting paid and just give that to the new coach. Let TAF make all the coaching decisions, and hire a couple of accountants to cash the SEC network checks.
Alleva is a puppet... check.
LSU has a serious lack of leadership... uh check, and it's not just in the athletic department. All the way through the president's office, through the BOS, all the way to the governor. They all suck.
As far as Coach O going undefeated and not getting job... if he does go undefeated and LSU makes the playoff... a lot of people will still call for another coach.

I totally agree with JawjaTigah on all his points. I am no Brando fan & he has a huge ego, but he was taking his shots at the BIG donors "who feel the number of zeroes on their checks gives their opinions validity". He referenced AU having a major booster problem ( Lowder) that they solved; bama having one (Bear, Jr.) and Saban solved that one. He said at LSU it's a pattern going back 30 yrs, that the politicians & BIG boosters are the ones calling all the shots. He said that group would have never hired Saban, they wanted a "good ol'boy" but M.Emmertt was too strong & over rode them. It mite be noted, according to Bruce Feldman anyway, that the group who met to decide to fire CLM Sunday a.m. was Alleva, King, several BOS, and "several prominent boosters". Which is what Brando was saying. He came on a bit bombastic but his points were valid as far as politicians & rich boosters calling the shots. Consider when M.Emmertt left LSU: when his biggest supporter, the Gov., left office & a whole new crew of pols took over the BOS.

Now with that said, where is it much different?

Who cares what Brando says. He's not having to pay the bills for the athletic program including the bonds that have to be paid for the stadium expansion.
Brando is on the downside of his career which is why he is relegated to calling West Coast games on FS1 such as Boise St at Oregon St last weekend.

Gordy just alluded to some beef between Brando and the administration over his producer Netherton not getting the Play by Play gig

These clowns (Brando, Forde, Mike&Mike) are just trying to find a way to elevate themselves above the noise around all this. Say something truly harsh in hopes you'll get more time on message boards than the average bear. Seems to be working.

Which is it? (1)They have ruined LSU's reputation or (2) we are a top three job in the country.
You say (1)
Finebaum's guests say (2)

Brando went from being a noted LSU homer to salty about everything related to the school pretty quickly

We know he can recruit, we know he can keep the fanbase, if we win a few of those games, he can coach.

I try to stay even keeled, but when you never walked all those streets around campus for years and years, you don't have a true appreciation of the school.

this I believe. brando is a dick and he is not a friend of LSU.
the shite about the boosters making the decisions? happens frickin' everywhere; ya have to make the money guys happy. they are paying the buyout after all. asshat brando acts like LSU is the only that gives big donors access.
his statements about the leadership are bull shite. cheap shots. the BOS just gave King a standing O for what he has done for the university. just because the jimbo think blew up last year they are easy targets but a Louisiana guy taking cheap shots AT THIS TIME is chicken shite.
i'm glad to hear his career is in the shitter. he's a loudmouth cheap shot shyster. do not buy a car from that man!
