Now we have an open spot that Wade can still fill.

What happened to all the WW will make Jenkins better talk? I only hope he's bringing in one of the UMass transfers or another JUCO/Grad transfer.

Damn. I actually liked his potential.

Ok Wade, here's your roster spot for a big man. Go get us one.

Hope he lands in a good spot. Him and Wade had a pre-existing relationship so it may be his own decision.

Maybe Bill Armstrong is bringing somebody with him?

Best of luck to him but I have all the faith in the world in Wade right now

I just have that gut feeling that he will bring this program to a high level.

Jenkins seemed to be the kind of player that fit what Wade wanted to do. However, LSU is flush with guards, many kind of overlap. Mays is arguably your only true PG. Patterson can give you minutes there, but he's probably better off the ball. Jenkins was a less-skilled Sampson, and now you have Rachal who is probably similar to a bigger Jenkins type player.

LSU was really without any shooters until they brought in Edwards. Alstork (if Wade can get him) would give LSU a combo-guard who could handle some point if need be. You'd still like to see one more guy with size added to the frontcourt, but maybe Wade figures he can make up for that deficiency somewhat by having bigger guards

Wade said on the radio last night that they will add 1 or 2 more. So, I am guessing Alstork and maybe another big.

If we can't get Alstork I wouldn't mind seeing him open up one more spot and get the 2 UMass guys. Next year's team will already be a deeper more talented team than last year, but we will also be losing 6+ players. The Umass guys would be a good move for the future

Means we're losing another player, at this point still 1 glaring piece who didn't contribute much at all last season.

Wade is really trying to win and win right now, not just ride out what was given to him. Cutting the dead weight and trying to replace with capable players.

Toughest part about that is you're basically packing in next season with a lack of depth right off the bat going in with 11 guys able to play instead of 13.

It's a risk, but as you said a nice move for the future. Just seems like with all the grad transfers and JUCOs he's going after he wants immediate impact guys, not guys taking up space next season eligible later on. I definitely wouldn't be against the McD35 Duo if we cant land some nice immediate impact players like Alstork...at some point there's just going to be a lack of quality JUCO/grad transfers and you're better off biting the bullet with young talent even if they sit a year.

With the tough workouts coach is supposedly putting them thru via strength training, out of gym stuff, I'm assuming he is planning on getting rid of the weaker pieces.

Anytime there is a transfer in situations like this, I can totally understand and would not hold it against the player.

Jenkins may feel he wont get more PT than last year which could mean transfer, he may not like the out of season workouts, he could simply feel the changes in style may not suit him as much as we all suspected.

Either way, if we lose Jenkins and get Alstork (which Im still not as confident in getting as some seem to be) that would be a major, major upgrade.

Was excited to see what he could do under CWW. But it seems CWW has a plan for the future and more excited about that!

Yeah Alstork is a bit of a pipe dream with the other schools he's considering but we just need to get him on campus. Seems like he loves wherever he visits and we're among his last visits. Gotta promise him 30+ minutes a game, he wants to find a place he can play and make the NBA.

If we dont get him, we may just bite the bullet and make a play on the McD35 duo from UMass. I'm looking at the grad transfer list for bigs and it's pretty depressing right now. Most of the decent guys left are mid-major size (6'6-6'7 forwards). Very few guys 6'8 or taller who did anything last season.

I wouldn't say that that would mean he's just packing it in. Wade said he like rotating 9 guys, 4 guards, 4 post and 1 swing man. Blakeney is a big loss, but you can easily make an argument that our top 9 guys this year is going to be much better than last year.

Mays
Sampson
edwards
Combs
Reath
Kiir
Epps
Patterson
Rachal

Plus you have Simms and Alexander

We wouldn't have too much coming off the bench at Guard but again, it's better than what we've had.

It's 5-3-1.

"I've always thought nine's the perfect number," Wade said. "Five guards, three bigs and a swing. … Part of the reason we're a little bit better offensively is we leave guys in there a little bit together, they're in sync together. … When you're shuffling guys in and out all the time, it's hard for the guys to get into rhythm. …

It seems he want happy the way he said JJ "believing in me". Later he Saud wade was great, but I read something in those separating the 2.

Why is Elbert still on the team? Maybe Wade can turn him into Tuba II and get 5 to 7 decent minutes out of him.
