I love how he stood the bat up on the plate after he hit it.
Exactly. It just added a violent aspect to the hit.

Hot take:
The gold jerseys with the purple "Tigers" across the chest are better than the Warren Morris jerseys and the one's we have now that have white "Tigers".

Yes. The 2000 golds are what I consider the definitive gold LSU baseball jersey. The purple letters look better than white letters.

I'm genuinely curious to watch this weekend just to confirm if we are rocking a gray uni this year or not.

Yea one of them had some Vulcan grip change up or screw ball that was nasty.
Yeah, that was Jason Young. He was completely shutting us down too. Good thing for us was, their coach Mark Marques, had the game plan to use both of their top notch pitchers against us. The plan was to start with Young, then go to Wayne (who was a first round draft pick).
Young was killing us. Luckily for us, instead of sticking with the hot handed Young, Marques had predetermined to switch to Wayne at a set point.
Wayne comes in, and we have tremendous success against him. The only one who couldn’t figure out Wayne, was Brad Cresse. Wayne had a major league slider, and he kept K’ing Cresse on those sliders. Cresse kept swinging and missing them for consecutive strikeouts.
Finally, when it mattered most, Cresse found the slider and hit that walk-off RBI (that brought Theriot home)!
What an ending!

That was my senior year of high school, almost got a speeding ticket in Baskin hustling to get home to watch, luckily the cop was a Tiger fan too and understood my dilemma.. Was waiting patiently on Cresse to bust out, always loved his swing… totally redeemed himself at the end.
Not a snowball’s chance in hell we win that game without Jeremy Witten, Blair Barbier and Ray Wright. Those dudes answered the call in crunch time.

Anyone else get chills hearing and seeing Wally Pontiff?
Yes, and the same when they do the Wally Pontiff Classic. Always makes me want to hug my two knucklehead boys and tell them how much I love them.

And to think because of a typo in the offer letter to him , offering as a pitcher, we almost got him 1 more year! they corrected that fast:

the 2000 free-agent draft, the Rockies selected Hawpe in the 11th round — as a pitcher.8 Since he had made up his mind to play as a first basemen or outfielder he almost decided to return to LSU for his senior year rather than turn pro. His signing scout, Damon Iannelli, explained to Hawpe that it was an internet mistake and that the Rockies wanted to sign him as a first baseman or outfielder, so he agreed to sign with the Rockies. 9
